Pfizer says its vaccine is preventing 91% of coronavirus cases in the six months after people are immunised.
And a separate study shows even people in their 80s and 90s are producing impressive levels of antibodies after receiving both doses of the vaccine.
Only 63% of them, however, also produce the T-cells that help maintain those antibodies in the longer term.
And the crucial question of how long the protection from the vaccine lasts remains unanswered.
Pfizer analysed data from 46,000 people on the original clinical trial, exactly six months after their second dose.
It also looked at 800 trial participants in South Africa and concluded the vaccine was equally effective against the variant identified there - despite laboratory studies suggesting people's antibodies were less effective at attacking this variant.
"The high vaccine efficacy observed through up to six months following a second dose and against the variant prevalent in South Africa provides further confidence in our vaccine's overall effectiveness," chairman and chief executive officer Albert Bourla said.

And the history of reproducibility in drug trials is not stellar.

That’s out of 100 million people in the US alone who’ve gotten at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. 100 million people got it, zero deaths where an investigation pointed to the vaccines as a cause.

The vaccines have been the basis of more conspiracy theories than there have been deaths from the vaccines.

The vaccine producers will never find the cause of death to be their vaccines, or any vaccines.
It just is not on their radar.

The numbers have been fudged so much since this thing started, I don’t think the true number will ever be known.

Good that you are taking Vitamin D and supplementing with Zinc. They are a good way to improve your odds in the function of your immune system.
I think getting the vaccine will prevent you from being as contagious as someone without. Maybe as time goes on they will discover vaccines do better at prevention than we think. I am always in favor of improving my odds.

However, it is tricky to know what the safe dose of zinc if you are planning to take large daily amounts. I say no more that 20 mg daily and let your hamburger and oyster consumption make up any extra you need.
