MSNBC Celebrates Biden's 'Diverse' First Judge Picks as a 'Counterpoint,' Ideology Ignored

MSNBC's shows may have undergone a name change, but Tuesday's edition of Stephanie Ruhle Reports presented the same left-wing bias as before. As President Biden named his first batch of judicial appointments, Ruhle and White House correspondent Kristen Welker marveled how, unlike Trump's judicial nominees, they aren't white males. Their diversity was all that mattered, and their ideology wasn't worth questioning.

Ruhle began by wondering, "Kristen, while I have you, one of former President Trump's, for conservatives, 'biggest wins' [quote fingers used] were all of the judges he put on the bench. I know President Biden just announced his first round of judicial nominees. What did you learn?"

Ketanji Brown Jackson was on President Obama's list to replace the late Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court, and given Biden's promise to nominate a black woman, is widely seen as a likely candidate to fill a potential vacancy.

There wasn't time for a discussion of her record, such that time she issued an injunction so ludicrous against the Trump Administration's deportation process, even liberals on the DC Circuit reversed her ruling. Or when a diverse DC Circuit ruled that she did not have jurisdiction to nullify key parts of a Trump executive order that would have made it easier to fire low-performing federal employees. Jackson was celebrated by liberal outlets for a "brutal takedown" when she insisted White House lawyer Don McGahn had to testify in the first Trump impeachment inquiry, because "presidents are not kings."

It is time that Senate Republicans stop fighting fair (not that they ever fought). Every single one of Biden's appointees need to their character's destroyed. Make things up. Ridicule. Abuse. Destroy. Make it that no one will want to be nominated.

The target should be the LEFTIST media channels. Many receive a significant portion of their revenue from cable subscriber fees. CNN receives half of its revenue from cable subscriber fees. If they are in the basic bundle, they get paid whether you watch or not.

• Tiffany Cunningham is nominated for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Cunningham is a patent attorney who serves as partner at Perkins Coie, L.L.P in Chicago, Ill.
• Candace Jackson-Akiwumi is nominated for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Jackson-Akiwumi a partner at Zuckerman Spaeder, L.L.P. in Washington, D.C. who focuses "complex civil litigation, white collar criminal defense, and investigations," according to the White House press release.
• Judge Deborah Boardman is nominated for the U.S. District Court for Maryland. Boardman serves as a magistrate judge for the U.S. District Court for Maryland.
• Judge Lydia Griggsby is nominated for the U.S. District Court for Maryland. Griggsby serves as a judge on the U.S. Federal Claims Court. Griggsby previously worked in the Senate, including in the office of Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., and the Senate Select Committee on Ethics.
• Julien Neals is nominated for the U.S. District Court for New Jersey. Neals currently serves as the county counsel and acting administrator for Bergen County, New Jersey. Neals has also held positions in the Newark, New Jersey city government.
• Judge Florence Pan is nominated for the U.S. District Court for D.C. Pan currently serves as an associate judge on the D.C. Superior Court. Previously, Pan worked as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in D.C.
• Judge Zahid Quraishi, a magistrate judge for the U.S. District Court of New Jersey, as the nominee for the U.S. District Court of New Jersey.
• Regina Rodriguez is nominated for the U.S. District Court for Colorado. Rodriguez currently is a partner at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, L.L.P. in Denver, Colo., where she, "handles cases involving complex litigation and government investigations," according to the release.
• Margaret Strickland is nominated for the U.S. District Court for New Mexico. Strickland is a partner at McGraw & Strickland, L.L.C. in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where she represents clients in "civil rights cases and criminal cases," according to the release.
• Judge Rupa Ranga Puttagunta is nominated for for the D.C. Superior Court. Ranga Puttagunta serves as an administrative judge for the D.C. Rental Housing Commission. Previously, Ranga Puttagunta represented "indigent criminal defendants," according to the release.

Journalists are a dime a dozen—that’s partly the problem; the ones with experience and integrity have already gotten the bum’s rush and been replaced by the preening climbers who will say or do anything to get their mug on air. Many more wait in the wings for their turn.

Fortunately they’re cavalier attitudes over truth and morality probably carry over to their personal life. Anonymous tips and sources are always legitimate if the allegation is sensational enough, especially if it’s likely true to begin with. Their employers are not going to let their reputations be sullied over some dime-a-dozen journalist’s alleged indiscretions. There are thousands waiting to take their spot.

They’re the low hanging fruit. They’re the least protected and the most exposed. They have very little to retaliate with.
