How is this possible? Does anyone know WHERE people are getting this kind of cash to get ‘smuggled’ into America? hundreds of thousands of them?

I wonder if all of the money is paid up front, or if its only partially paid and the rest is a longer term obligation that the smugglers can call on in the US later—say safe house services, transportation, interest, drug hiding, etc.

Where they are getting the money is one of two ways a) their relatives in the US pay the trafficking fee up front; or b) the cartel accepts monthly payments, at inflated interest. They know all the details of the family the person is coming from and the family the person is going to. They will collect. Throwing the woman and child out of the boat was a warning to the people paying - one of you is next if you don’t pay up.
