Malarkey! That's how the King County Sheriff's Office described a series of text messages used in an attempted scam targeting a Woodinville resident.
On March 18 just before 10:00 p.m., deputies responded to the would-be victim's house in the Cottage Lake area.
The female resident revealed multiple text messages that she received from an unknown person pretending to be a hitman hired to kill her.
"I am very sorry for you," one of the messages reads, "it's a pit that this is how your life is going to end as soon as you don't comply."
The rather poorly written text messages continue, telling the victim that one of her friends wants her dead.
Eventually, the scammer demands $1,000 in exchange for the woman's life.
The woman told deputies that her occupation is prone to receiving spam messages, so she didn't reply or even take the messages seriously.
However, wanting to have the incident documented, she reported it to the sheriff's office.
Now, the King County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about this scam, telling everyone that receives messages like this to not reply and report it to their local police force.
The King County Sheriff's Department says that, despite the lack of sophistication, folks have fallen victim to scams even more unbelievable than this one.
Seattle ...
This is basically what happened to our rich aunt. It started as a Jamaican Lottery scam. She wanted to win that money so she could lord it over the family. She told family “Something big is going to happen and you will all be jealous of me, wishing you had treated me better”. At the end, the scammers were sending her pictures of her door (assisted living) and threatening to kill her. She died penniless, killed by her own greed. If she had told someone, we could have caught them.
Thankfully, my elderly mother is wise to these scams and we daughters make sure to tell her when a new one comes to our attention. She loves the phone calls that pretend to come from her “favorite grandson” who needs $2000 in gift cards in order to be released from jail. She always responds with the statement that all her grandsons are too smart to be in jail.
Had a Nigerian or Jamaican scammer posing as an investment agent for a company I knew the minute he knew I was on to him he said I know where you live threatened to come to my door and kill me, I told him great I need some target practice I have a double barreled gun shot gun with your name on it scumbag
I pretend to be convinced they are for real, and play with them for as long as they will stay on the line.
:)
We need to unplug the countries from the internet that don’t take adequate enforcement actions against scammers.
There are too many scams being run out of Nigeria, Ghana, India, China and Russia.
But hold on that until my beautiful white model fiancé from Ghana gets here. And the young Chinese girl who wants to teach me how to become rich like her once I sign up for an investment account with her broker, imparts her wisdom to me.
The engineer who made the porch pirate glitter bomb has connected with a guy who investigates phone scammers. Instead of sending cash, they send the glitter bomb followed by an immediate visit from the police. They’ve only caught a couple mid level people so far because it’s very segmented and sophisticated scams but it’s good to know they are publicly shamed then arrested.
Wasting the scammers’ time is one of the best ways to retaliate, if you have the time and patience for it. I’ve been getting the SS calls too, at least once or twice a day, but I just hang up.
Just tell him this.
Do you believe in Jesus?
Oh course I do
Good because you are going to meet him.
The videos are long but well worth watching, especially at the end when they discover what he has done.........
woodinville is not quite seattle.
Got a link?
Well yeah. Look at all the people running around wearing face diapers and lining up for experimental vaccines.

OMG! This is HILARIOUS!! I didn’t think I could sit through an hour, but this guy deserves an oscar! Sarah Conner who leads the bible study at my church, hates robots and wants to terminate them. And the bit about the twin grandaughters, Sam and Ella! Dam! Not even at the end yet.
In the video you are watching, he's scamming the scammer out of $3,000.......
In another video, he's taking on a scammer from Calcutta and like I mentioned before, while he has the chump on the line, he has accessed the guy's computer and deleting all the files. The ending is hilarious.....
And in another video, he hears of an elderly lady who was scammed out of about $30,000 then goes to visit her to get her story. Then he goes to work against the scammer while at the same time sets up a GoFundMe page to help the lady get her money back........
The guy is great
