WASHINGTON (AP) — When former President Donald Trump was asked to list those he considers the future leaders of the Republican Party, he quickly rattled off names including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Sens. Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz. Conspicuously absent from the list: Mike Pence.
The former vice president is steadily reentering public life as he eyes a potential run for the White House in 2024. He’s joining conservative organizations, writing op-eds, delivering speeches and launching an advocacy group that will focus on promoting the Trump administration’s accomplishments.

Maybe he can get a few Dems and a few dominion voting machines to vote for him.
Pence will raise a lot of money; just like Jeb Bush. His results will be the same.
Does he have a death wish?
They always want to push the slugs on us as candidates.
I agree with most of your analysis.
The problem with all senators is they never ran anythings. Cruz and Hawley are good talkers, but they are lawyers, not administrators by occupation.
DeSantis as governor and Pompeo as Secretary of State are tops on my list — if Trump doesn’t run himself.
For someone who has been in politics a long time, and is of an age where he should know better --- this is insanely naive (sp?).
Please, no one is "hard" for the Dems to slime. I think Dan Crenshaw lost his eye in combat; but, they made fun of him with "Pirate" jokes. Whenever you think that the Dems have hit rock bottom, they will prove you wrong.
Are you out of your mind?
“And its guys like you that caused me to no longer be a ‘conservative’ of the stripe of those listed above. I am now a patriot.”
I agree. The label “Conservative” no longer works for me either... it has been ruined by RINOs claiming to be “conservative”, but I think it was ruined before that...
When I’m talking with Lefty types, and I’m trying to talk about real issues, the way they use the word conservative is nothing anywhere close to the conservatism I identified with all my life.
They use the word with a certain air of contempt - it sounds like they think it means stuck in the mud, closed-minded, clinging to the past (the racist past), brainwashed, stubborn.
When I’m talking to people on the Right, a lot of them seem to think being conservative means being ultra religious, sending more troops everywhere, being pro big business, free (globalist) enterprise, anti welfare, restrictive monetary policy, more flag-waving, wear a suit and tie, being a solid Republican no matter what.
Why should I keep using a term that 95% of the people (friend and foe) think means something different than I think it means?
To me it meant protecting the Constitution and the bill of rights, strictly limiting government, protecting the liberties of individuals, protecting the free self-governing Constitutional Republic as designed by the Founders: of the people, by the people, and for the people.
But I agree that “conservative” no longer means that - “Patriot” is a much better word. It will still get twisted into something bad by the Left - just the way Nationalism, America First, and MAGA are “bad words”.
But oh well... :-)
Thanks.
He has slimed himself several times already. No on Abbott.
Wow. Such gall from Little Milky Mike to think he has a shot after betraying Trump. Just stay in the swamp Little Mike, where you belong.
Fixed it for you.
Until Trump we elected them regularly, likely will in the future too. Not me because I am not real likely to make it through this one, but experience tells me they will always be with us.
The punk who rubber-stamped the coup d’état ? Stalinazi Media so funny.
No. I'll vote for Biden before I vote for that backstabber. Pence can go f*** himself.
He willingly participated in an election fraud. He backstabbed Trump and he backstabbed us.
bad idea to rule xxxx out already. Or xxx. Or xxx, Pompeo, xxx, ...
Fixed it for you.
******
You and I agree re: Pompeo, who I believe will be the nominee. I predict that we will be up to our eyeballs in international crises by 2023 and for that reason alone Pompeo rather than DeSantis will prevail as the nominee. DeSantis can be the nominee thereafter.
Perhaps DJT will be healthy in three years and intent on running for President. If so, the nomination may be his for the asking. But I predict that his about-to-be-introduced platform will succeed beyond anyone’s imagination and turn out to be the best use of his talents, resources and energies going forward. I predict, as well, that this platform will coopt some of the folks you and others here want to throw out of the GOP (Pence, Noem, Rubio, ...). You will all reconsider, I think, in time; and these leaders will end up fully rehabilitated. (As an example, Senator Kruz loathed DJT four years ago, yet now stands among his staunchest advocates.)
