We are about to witness, for the first time, the power of a fully operational Affordable Care Act (ACA).
The American Rescue Plan made 3.7 million more people eligible for the ACA’s premium subsidies. The Biden administration had already opened up enrollment after taking office, and 200,000 Americans signed up in the first two weeks. Now the administration is extending enrollment until August 15, backed by millions of dollars in advertising.
Insurers are expanding into new markets, and some who abandoned it long ago in the law’s fraught early years are now reentering. The individual mandate is gone, but, as it turns out, it may not be as important to the law’s long-term viability as originally thought. The law had been weakened since its passage by the Supreme Court and Republican opposition. So this is a new beginning of sorts.

It won’t be permanent . . . in the sense that the Feds won’t be able to paper-over their insolvency for another 10 years. Especially once additional spend mandates come into play as “infrastructure” while the upcoming massive tax increases mysteriously don’t produce enough revenue because . . . Atlas Shrugs.
What most folks don’t realize that when signing up for ZeroCare is that with that $128.76 per month payment comes a direct liability of $10,000 or more AKA a deductible. They don’t realize that they must come up with 10 grand before ZeroCare starts picking up any of the medical tab. If someone is living paycheck to paycheck, they probably don’t have any way of coming up with the deductible at all. And the deductible starts all over the next year. Such a deal! Only an USA-hating communist could conceive of such a boondoggle.
If only Republicans had an opportunity to repeal Obamacare...
The individual mandate is coming back for the 2022 tax year.
Message: Don’t get treatment; wait until you need surgery.
That’s why Medicaid is so much better!!!
Its going to be a line in the infrastructure bill.
