Before the decreases in cases and hospitalizations in Texas and Mississippi, they received criticism for their coronavirus policies, including from President Joe Biden. Shortly after both states said they were lifting their COVID-19 restrictions, Biden said, "The last thing we need is Neanderthal thinking, that, in the meantime, everything's fine, take off your mask, forget it. It still matters."

Did they simultaneously follow the WHO recommendation to reduce the PCR cycles from 40 to 20?

As those who rushed to get the shot and those self righteous about the fake "vaccine". It really doesn't matter at this point because the damage is done and mission accomplished nevertheless.
Not saying masks don’t work in certain settings, but clearly mask mandates don’t work on a massive scale.
The lack of fear factor is a big part of this too. With the hysteria, any sniffle results in the panicky types to rush to the ER because they think they’re going to die. Even if they don’t have COVID, the volume of tests means you’re counting more false positives as well as actual cases - even if minor symptoms.
With no panic - no test - and no increase to the COVID ticker.

Most places in my big city are still requiring them. I’ve only seen one restaurant that cheerfully welcomes customers who aren’t wearing masks and only Kroger is tolerating maskless customers.
