A jury will gather Monday to hear opening arguments in the trial of former Minneapolis policeman Derek Chauvin as they begin the process of determing whether he is guilty of murder in the fatal arrest of George Floyd.

Over two weeks of jury selection, many jurors told Hennepin County District Judge Peter Cahill and the lawyers on each side that they recognized the scrutiny their deliberations would come under, not least by those who view the trial as a reckoning for how Black people are policed in the United States.

Jurors will head to a courtroom in a tower in downtown Minneapolis ringed with concrete barriers, barbed wire, and soldiers from the state's National Guard.

For blocks around, businesses are closed and windows boarded up, fearing a repeat of the arson and other property damage that occurred after Floyd's death.

Only in the Soviet Union America!

Only in black America. The culture has a habit of burning their own cities down.

Won’t take long. If they don’t find him guilty get ready for the riots, if they do then there will be riots anyways.

As with the LA Riots, those wanting to loot and run amuck are gonna to so no matter if they call it a protest or a celebration.

And they will doubtlessly harm black folks who are trying to build businesses, have good lives and improve their communities.

I wish the media would get out of Dodge until the whole shooting match was over, plus at least two weeks.

Four sets of barricades block police from coming to the intersection now called George Floyd Square, which is filled with flowers, posters, murals, and other tributes to Floyd.

Minneapolis cops should go on strike one hour before the verdict is announced.

I didn’t hear the prosecution opening statements, but the defense seemed rock solid.

Of course, it won’t matter. The outcome is almost certainly pre-ordained based on the make-up of the jury and the insane level of politics around this, even if compelling evidence justifying a not guilty plea is presented - which it sure sounds like it will be.

With the autopsy results, there is no way a murder charge will stand, if not at trial than at appeal. Only then will things get interesting.

Will the PINO Biden order his Just Us Department to charge him again with federal civil rights violations? The Attorney General is Merrick Garland. The Solicitor General, Elizabeth Prelogar, had been a law clerk to Garland, and later Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Elena Kagan. She would be who argues the case before the SCOTUS.

The trial is timed so the non-working-but-getting-paid street people won’t be too cold as they run rampant in the center city carrying their blm signs and looting stores.

No matter the verdict, there will be “mostly peaceful” riots that will burn buildings down, throw rocks at cops, assault Whites and rape women. Those riots will be used later in the year to justify the most significant piece of legislation ever passed: reparations, by which Whitey will be forced into permanent servitude to his new masters because some Whites, who are now dead, had slaves, who are now dead.

The anniversary of Justine Damond’s murder in 2017, July 15, in Minneapolis, will pass by without notice since the murderer was a protected minority and got 12.5 years in prison, and will be let out when the folks have forgotten.
