On Friday’s “PBS NewsHour,” New York Times columnist David Brooks said that the only way to have a meaningful impact on gun violence is to decrease the number of guns in the U.S., something countries like Australia have done.
Brooks said, “[T]he more I look at it, and I’m not alone in this, the more you conclude that the simple problem is we have too many guns in America. There’s upwards of, some estimates, 350 million guns in this country. And so, when you get a lonely young man who’s detached and sociopathic, getting a gun for that person is not hard. And so, we spend a lot of time on these things like background checks and assault weapon bans, and that’s fine. But a lot of effort has been put into things that aren’t that effective. We just have to have a debate on how do we reduce the total number of guns in [the] country? And other countries have done this, Australia and others, through buybacks and other things. It’s obviously super difficult politically. But, to me, it’s the only way to have a meaningful difference.”

I just read a story about some nut in California who attacked a guy who managed to get away before stabbing a grandmother and her dog to death. The guy who originally got attacked rushed to help the lady when he saw she was getting stabbed by the nut. He had to knock the nut out with a rock. If he had a gun, he could have just shot the guyw hen he was attacked and there wouldn’t be a dead lady now but he is in California and not many carry guns there.

Geez, what i8 think it will take to resolve this issue I can’t print
Well that's true...But we don't like that meaningful difference...Couple hundred years ago the British tried to make a meaningful difference...We didn't think much of it then either...
Demonstrate proven methodology of separating gun ownership from those not authorized to have a firearm and not affecting gun ownership from authorized firearms owners and I’ll evaluate whether or not to come on board with that legislation. The legalese speak, word-by-word would have to be scrutinized for unintended consequences or nose-under-the-tent future ruling openings.
Who’s Shooting? - American Thinker LONGER TIME LINE NEEDED, STATS (LINK HEAVY)
Time, Race, Religion, CHART: 4 blacks No religion given, 1 white Christian i.e. TRUMP HATER, 1 Hispanic No religion given, 1 Arab-Muslim,
LINKS As for Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa’s religion or ethnicity, nothing so far. The L.A. Times is silent about both. One must dive into alternative media to discover what he believed. Heavy.com has many quotes from his Facebook page, now deleted. He hated Donald Trump, was homophobic (”God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve just saying”), and opposed abortion (”Abortion is disgusting”). Wait, does that make him pro-life?

Ban assault hammers!
And the INCELS...(involuntarily celibate) from a Law & Order episode. Can't get a girl. Frustrated to the point of killing.
DOH! How come someone as brilliant as this person didn't slap his forehead and say: "I'm moving to Australia!"
And how come the so-called 'journalist' at "PBS NewsHour" didn't ask the obvious follow-up question?
"So, Mr. Brooks, how many guns do you think there should be, in a free country the size of the United States?"
One or more per adult citizen? Or perhaps only one each, for just some of the adult citizens? And which privileged few would that be? Government employees, or Democrat Party members only? And what type of guns would they be allowed to own?
These 'fake newsers' are professionally deficient to the point of stupidity...
LOL - yep - that's true too...
