San Francisco Mayor London Breed announced Thursday the city has launched a guaranteed income pilot program for artists affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The six-month program will target artists in the neighborhoods hardest hit by the pandemic, providing 130 people with $1,000 each month.
“The arts are truly critical to our local economy and are an essential part of our long-term recovery,” Breed said in a statement. “If we help the arts recover, the arts will help San Francisco recover.”
To qualify, artists affected by the pandemic must be living in one of 13 chosen San Francisco ZIP codes and the individual must be 18 years or older. Individuals and families must also meet an income limit, not exceeding $60,900 a year for an individual and $87,000 a year for a family of four.

Such a crock. Choose to be an “artist” and get free money! What a deal!
Hey, I’m a graffiti artist, I quality. Check out my work on city buses.
Good folks (e.g., conservatives)get outta sh*t city so that we can really enjoy the big one without remorse when it comes.
And if it doesn’t take down all of Google HQ, we can “take care” of that afterwards.
I do mine on the bathroom stalls. I can’t wait for my FREE money.
They do this for the "low income" housing as well. Build a bunch of apartments and call it an Art Center and subject the tenants to an income cap test. Typically federally funded, so they have to actually admit everyone who qualifies on the income test, but they nominally have an "artist" test which consists of the tenant either showing art work or writing a description of their artistic past.
In other words, more Rat voters being subsidized to live in Rat districts using money from people in Kansas.
Pelosi: Obamacare Allows You to Quit Your Job and Become ‘Whatever’
“You want to be a photographer or a writer or a musician, whatever - an artist, you want to be self-employed, if you want to start a business, you want to change jobs, you no longer are prohibited from doing that because you can’t have access to health care, especially because you do not want to put your family at risk,” she said.

“...artists affected by the pandemic must be living in one of 13 chosen San Francisco ZIP codes”
But later in the article are the two final paragraphs:
This isn’t the first basic income pilot program in San Francisco. In September, the city announced it would provide a basic income to 150 Black and Pacific Islander women during pregnancy and after giving birth.
This announcement also comes just days after Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf launched her city’s own universal income program, giving 600 low-income families of color $500 per month for at least 18 months.
How is it Constitutional for a city to provide money for black/Pacific Islander mothers to the exclusion of mothers of other races and likewise exclude ‘low-income families of ‘non-color’ from $500 ‘universal income’?
I have the jurisdictions saying that the graffiti “artists” are creating protected art.

not real legitimate tax paying businesses like restaurants, gyms etc. What a crock of sh##
Ah, of course... San Francisco. I saw “SF launched a program for artists”. I saw Special Forces hired a diversity officer today, so I naturally thought maybe they were going to start hiring artists too. You know, to paint dramatic murals all around the soon to be renamed Fort Bragg. Murals of SOCOM tranny and women soldiers attacking white supremacist terrorists, or performing medical services and building tents for migrants at the border.
You never know these days.
