Rush Limbaugh's syndicated radio talk show will go on with a series of guest hosts airing archived episodes following the conservative host's death earlier this year.
Premiere Networks told USA Today on Tuesday that it would continue a practice that began during Limbaugh's absences for cancer treatments, in which guest hosts introduce listeners to various clips of Limbaugh opining on the issues of the day.
“No one can replace Rush Limbaugh, and Premiere Networks will continue to provide millions of loyal listeners with the voice of Rush for the long term,” said a spokeswoman.

I still listen to the archive broadcast excerpts, but now only occasionally rather than my previous daily “can’t wait to hear Rush’s take” on recent events. The guest hosts will never be able to replace him unfortunately.
Stations will be drifting away. If they are doing this that means they have no plans to continue EIB long term.

I think the real Rush Limbaugh fans cannot take this anymore. We want one host and to get off so many clips. If you do use a clip, it should be used very sparingly. It's awful hearing the guide host act like Rush is still alive and say he cannot wait to hear what Rush has to say on this and then Rush gives a monologue. Maybe some casual fan turns it on mid-monologue and thinks it's really Rush is still listening.
So apparently Dan Bongino is NOT taking over the show after all? I’d heard that he was. IMO this is actually better, at least for now. If they were to make an actual replacement, I’d much prefer Mark Steyn if they could get him to do it. He’s smarter, and definitely funnier than Bongino. Humor was a big part of Rush’s show. I could see it being presented as “The Rush Limbaugh Show, featuring Mark Steyn”.
I enjoy turning to a station and hearing his voice.
He was a great man, really great man.

Already happening. Rush’s show was dropped on monday here in Jacksonville, FL. Local guy moved up from the morning into the 12-3 slot.
This sounds pretty cheesy and ghoulish, IMO.
Called it (broken clock) last week that the guest host / archived Rush segments could work.
I’ve been a daily listener to Rush since he premiered on WBT in Charlotte. I’ve heard most all of the clips they are playing so I quit listening. Lost interest in talk radio overall as a matter of fact. I would listen again if they brought out his stuff from the very early years.
I can’t stand Todd Herman. I really only care to hear from Mark Steyn.
Fastest 30 years in broadcast radio. I listened on his first day here on WLS AM 890 in Chicago and on what turned out to be his last.
Just damn'.
I wish they would have a permanent Mark Steyn Monday
Dan is taking over near the end of May for those stations owned by Cumulus. Other stations have announced other hosts. It appears the network of stations syndicating Rush are splintering to a multitude of various hosts. Rush’s show is owned by Premiere which also owns a lot of stations.
I have already moved on. I sometimes listen to Dennis Prager but find him depressing because he’s all doom-and-gloom and an eternal pessimist. When I’m in the car, I listen to Andrew Wilkow on Sirius Satellite Radio, even though I get annoyed by his favorite expression, “air-fingers quote.” If I’m at the computer, I sometimes listen to Charlie Kirk. But none of these hosts have the optimism and sense of humor that Rush had.
Premier/iheart have twice the affiliates of Cumulus.
With Trump gone and Rush gone I have lost interest in politics. I am not even keeping up with the news.
....”into the 12-3 slot.”
Amazing how Rush developed that slot into a Big Deal.
EIB needs to move on.
First thing would be to start auditioning guest hosts. The guys who have been doing it are good, but IMO it’s time for new blood, someone young who has a sense of humor.
I nominate Candace Owens.
That said, no one will replace Rush.
Mark Steyn and Walter Williams (RIP) were/are the only substitutes I liked/like.
