The Covid-19 vaccine developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca was 79% effective in preventing symptomatic illness in a large trial in the US, Chile and Peru, the company said on Monday, paving the way for it to apply for US approval.
It was 100% effective against severe or critical disease and hospitalisation and was safe, the drugmaker said on Monday, releasing results of the late-stage human trial study of more than 32,000 volunteers across all age groups.
The data will give credence to the British vaccine after results from earlier, separate late-stage studies raised questions about the robustness of the data.
It will also help allay safety concerns that have disrupted its use in the EU after a small number of reports of rare blood clots in people who had received the jab.
After briefly halting its use, many European countries have resumed using the product in their inoculation programmes.
The partners will prepare the data to apply for approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The results of the US trial have been long-awaited, delayed by the demands of the regulator that substantial numbers of people from older age groups and different ethnicities should be recruited to settle the question of how well it works in the over-65s.
AstraZeneca, which ran the big US trial, will now hope any doubts are dispelled in the US and in Europe and that the age limits in Europe will be withdrawn. The US trial involved nearly 32,500 people, which is larger than any of their other trials of this vaccine, and about 20% were 65 or older. Nearly two-thirds were not in the best of health – 60% had underlying conditions including diabetes, severe obesity and heart disease, which would put them at serious risk if they caught the virus.

You know how you discover long term problems with this “vaccine” You conduct a long term study, which has not been done.
For a virus with a 99% survival rate.
In my condo complex of 100+ units, majority are seniors. We have regular social gatherings, and without exception, all seniors have already received at least the 1st shot. All are anxious to get the vaccines. This condo complex can be considered above average income residents.
Survival in a air-tight plastic tent in the hospital, with no one allowed to touch you and with high fever and connected to a ventilator? No thanks. I am taking my chance with the vaccine.
Who do you trust? The American medical system (that won’t allow HCQ or Ivermectin), or your lying eyes?

Note EVMS says “try to avoid intubation if possible”, why? Because ventilators killed people that didn’t have to die.
Snort, US trials. If it’s a covid vax trial in the US consists of Fauxi’s rubber stamp of approval and a co-sign by Gates.
Anything else takes years and years and years of trials.
Have you heard of what % of people have been hospitalized with covid-19 AFTER receiving the vaccine? If that number is very low, as I suspect it will be, then vaccine is worth the effort and cost.
Are U.S. trials trustworthy?
Same with early intervention. Many doctors say 50%+ of the deaths could have been avoided with early intervention.
That’s a big if, since the vaccines are under emergency use authorization and the studies aren’t over until 2023. It’s a big experiment.

4658 deaths have been reported to VAERS for all vaccines. 1378 of those have been reported with the covid vaccines. The next highest death count reported is 314 for PREVNAR. 30% of deaths reported to VARES (over 20+ years) are associated with the covid vaccines.
There have been 1813 deaths reported to VARES since March of 2018. 1378 of those were repoted in association with the covid vaccines. That’s 76%. 76% of the deaths reported to VARES since march 2018 have been associated with the covid vaccines.
