Holland, was told to close by governor’s order, like many did at the height of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s (D) executive order spree. But Hackney reopened last summer and faced orders to close by state agents.
She repeatedly refused and was ordered to turn herself in Thursday. When she ignored that demand, Hackney was arrested early Friday and taken to a Lansing jail, some 100 miles away from Holland.
Hackney, an immigrant who fled communist Poland as a teenager, was arrested Friday on a misdemeanor contempt of court charge. She was denied bond and remains in an Ingham County jail.
Meshawn Maddock, vice chair of the Michigan Republican Party, said, “Whitmer’s policies can kill seniors and lie about it, and Nessel just writes it off. But if Marlena in Holland serves a sandwich, she’s got to serve time.”
“Let’s jail the governor for killing grandma, but not waitresses and line cooks that just want to earn a living,” Maddock said.

I'm fine with heads on pikes. I prefer the old fashioned method in the spirit of our Founding Fathers which would include, tar, feathers, rope and a high sturdy tree limb.

Who has ever been denied bond for a non-violent MISDEMEANOR offense? That is certifiably CRAZY.
But how many Republican State Representatives or Senators are going to try to stop Komrade Whitmer? From what I see, they’re cucking in the corner hoping they can still go to all the cool cocaine-and-adrenochrome parties in Lansing.
Unless a Legislature possesses either a veto-proof majority and/or enough votes to impeach and remove, they’re pretty powerless when it comes restraining an out of control a governor exercising his/her police power.
I don’t know what kind of majority the Republicans have in MI - or even if they have a majority at all - but that majority does exists, it’s very likely not nearly large enough to substantively rein in this witch. Elections have consequences.
The best they can do is to pursue legal actions against Whitmer and hope they prevail in court. I believe they’ve tried that and have largely been rebuked with only one or two small wins in court. The MI judiciary must be as corrput as Whitmer.
Forcing Chinavirus patients into nursing homes, killing thousands, no problem.
Allowing illegals aliens with the virus into our country in huge numbers, no problem.
But a restaurant owner defying the fascist lockdown to try to save her business? Sent to jail.

Yep. It’s nice that they’re having a rally ...but in no way does this make the bad players in the ordeal feel uncomfortable.
