Texas Governor Greg Abbott has called the border crisis a 'humanitarian disaster' as COVID cases surge among teens held in a hastily constructed federal holding facility for child migrants with no drinkable water.
The detention center in Midland County, currently holding more than 400 youths, was opened on Sunday after federal officials converted a 'man camp' for oilfield workers to help handle a massive surge in illegal border crossings, including many unaccompanied minors.
More than 10 percent of the camp's population has tested positive for COVID-19 and at least one child had to be hospitalized. And on Friday, Texas officials issued a dire warning that well water used at the holding site could be contaminated with arsenic or other toxins.

This will provide the numbers to continue to panic the public into accepting the FASCIST social controls, lockdowns, distancing, vaccines, masks, etc.
End mancamps for oil workers, fill them with welfare Mexicans. Great idea.
And the water is better that what they had in Mexico.
Our leaders are destroying America, and it cannot be restored without a fight. They showed they are willing to use force in this last election. Stealing an election is force. Two divisions of soldiers in the streets is force. A secret police scouring the country for dissenters is force.
They are pushing for a fight. They are very sure they cannot go too far.
Abbott is trying to rehabilitate his globalist Bush image. He is all mouth and little action. DeSantis is the role model, not this Abbott clown who froze the state in the dark and deliberately flooded it with Californians.
If only Abbott could do anything about.. anything.
Is Abbott term limited for Tx governor? The next election will probably be against Beta whose gun grabber approach should be a real turd in a Texas punchbowl.
Fake News has morphed into Hidden News.
Nothing to see here folks.
The Biden facilities for children don’t have hurricane fencing like the older ones did. The new ones use barbed and concertina wire - much cheaper and faster to install. Once the crisis at the border is resolved and the ‘observation’ towers are installed every 200 yards on perimeter, the facilities will be ready for the ‘other uses’ this administration has in mind.
Abbot only has the governorship, 2 Senators, Congress, Texas State Senate. His hands are tied.
It’s about a 17 hour bus ride from Midland to Mexico City. 14000 people is about 285 buses.
If the government charters 100 buses, the problem can be settled in three weeks.
I’m getting disappointed with governor Abbott. How dare he allow an incompetent pedophile to run roughshod over our great state of Texas? Abbott should mobilize the Texas national guard, get a few hundred transport trucks and buses, and start taking these illegals back to the Mexico side of the border.
Now. Today.
C’mon. He can’t. Thanks to US v Arizona from roughly a decade ago, this is well settled law, now. The moment Abbott would attempt something like that, a district judge would issue an injunction.
Elections have consequences, even when they’re fraudulent...particularly when they’re fraudulent. Unchallenged invasion is one of those consequences.
Pelosi is like this scene from the movie Animal House...
Remain Calm, All is well...while chaos ensues around everyone...

I was waiting for someone to show up to tell us how powerless our leaders are. Why do we bother with electing Republicans anyway if they happen to always be so powerless?
Welcome to free republic btw.
There is nothing Abbott or any governor can do to stop this. Ask Jan Brewer if you don't believe me.
Note to Abbott: Talk is cheap.
There’s plenty they can do.
If the pols and the populace have the will.
They don’t.
How can Xiden have anything “under control” when he can’t speak,
he can’t walk, he can’t think?!?!
QUESTION: Do the federal immigration laws preclude Arizona's efforts at cooperative law enforcement and preempt the four provisions of S.B. 1070 on their face?
CONCLUSION Yes for provisions 1, 2, and 4; No for provision 3. Justice Anthony M. Kennedy, writing for a 5-3 majority, reversed in part and affirmed in part. The Supreme Court held that provision 1 conflicts with the federal alien registration requirements and enforcement provisions already in place. Provision 2 is preempted because its method of enforcement interferes with the careful balance Congress struck with federal laws on unauthorized employment of aliens. Provision 4 is preempted because it usurps the federal government's authority to use discretion in the removal process. This creates an obstacle to carrying out the purposes and objectives of federal immigration laws.
The Court upheld provision 3 as constitutional on its face. This provision merely allows state law enforcement officials to communicate with the federal Immigrations and Customs Enforcement office during otherwise lawful arrests. The provision has three limitations that protect individual rights: a detainee is presumed not to be an illegal alien if he/she produces a valid Arizona drivers license; an officer may not consider race, color, or national origin during a check; and the check must be implemented in a manner consistent with federal law. Justice Kennedy noted that this decision did not foreclose any future constitutional challenges to the law on an as applied basis.
Maybe there's an outside chance with the slight change in the makeup of the Court, Arizona could be reversed. But, Roberts already joined the liberals once which means Barret, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh would all have join Alito and Thomas to set aside stare decisis. But, until that happens, governors and state legislatures are powerless.
