Mayor de Blasio on Thursday said cops should “confront” people accused of “hurtful” behavior — even if the behavior doesn’t rise to the level of a crime.
Asked if the NYPD and city could be doing more to thwart the troubling surge in hate crimes against Asians, Hizzoner suggested the warnings could be a last resort.
“Even if something is not a criminal case, a perpetrator being confronted by the city, whether it’s NYPD or another agency, and being told that what they’ve done was very hurtful to another person — and could, if ever repeated, lead to criminal charges — that’s another important piece of the puzzle,” de Blasio told reporters.

How about cops confronting people for actual criminal behavior such as the mayor’s wife who won’t account for $850M of taxpayer’s money? How about cops confronting a mayor who fired a cop TWICE found not guilty by a jury?
Just like in England where now they are taking police away from solving real crimes and having them hunt down people who say mean things about soccer players.

Next step is public education teaching kids to rat out their parents for “crimes against the state.”
Fascists are willing to use the police to control thought and speech, and to do nothing to stop true crime.
Police presence bumped up in Asian communities. First off when police did this in black communities it was considered oppressive and racist. Now doing this in the Asian community is okay? The “for your safety” mantra is concerning me for these groups. Remember, the police presence in Jewish areas of Nazi Germany?
