U.S. Dept. of State calls on cos to stop participating in Nord Stream 2 project, warns of sanctions

The U.S. Department of State on Thursday said that any firms involved in implementing the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project must stop participating in it unless they want to be subjected to sanctions.

"The Department reiterates its warning that any entity involved in the Nord Stream 2 pipeline risks U.S. sanctions," U.S. State Secretary Antony Blinken said.

Blinken has called on every such entity to "immediately abandon work on the pipeline."

Unnecessary escalation of tensions with Russia. Europe needs that pipeline and is unlikely to bow to this threat.

There’s absolutely no reason for our country to get involved in this.

The US under Trump wanted us to provide this energy to Europe, not Russia. Dependence upon Russia for energy is incongruous with NATO and Europe’s security. Trump confronted Merkle about her perfidy. You can’t have it both ways.

Biden’s policy of destroying US energy independence and the US as a net exporter of energy will drive Europe to rely more on Russia and Iran. The price of energy will rise putting more money in the coffers of our enemies.

Let us all bear in mind that the CCP pulls Biden’s puppet strings via verbal face to face commands from one of it’s operatives in or steps away from the Oval Office. Anything that pokes the Bear the CCP is for.

Left to his own devices, Biden likely would just take another bribe from Russia. Even 1% of this deal would be millions for the BCF (Biden Crime Family).

If I was the company CEO I would demand an in-person “meeting” with “Joe” in the White Basement, and chew the hell out of him. But that wouldn’t happen.

“Dependence upon Russia for energy is incongruous with NATO and Europe’s security.”

However, US security and interests are best served by minding our own damn business...in this matter.

The rest of your soliloquy is simple emoting.

Throwing away NATO is hard. But it is good US policy.

The best we can do is give them a soft landing.

How did he propose we get our natural gas to Europe?

President Donald Trump has signed a law that will impose sanctions on any firm that helps Russia’s state-owned gas company, Gazprom, finish a pipeline into the European Union.

The sanctions target firms building Nord Stream 2, an undersea pipeline that will allow Russia to increase gas exports to Germany.

*** How did he propose we get our natural gas to Europe? ***

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is natural gas that has been cooled to a liquid state (liquefied), at about -260°Fahrenheit for shipping and storage. The volume of natural gas in its liquid state is about 600 times smaller than its volume in its gaseous state in a natural gas pipeline. This liquefaction process, developed in the 19th century, makes it possible to transport natural gas to places natural gas pipelines do not reach and to use natural gas as a transportation fuel.

LNG increases markets for natural gas
Where natural gas pipelines are not feasible or do not exist, liquefying natural gas is a way to move natural gas from producing regions to markets, such as to and from the United States and other countries. Asian countries combined account for the largest share of global LNG imports.

LNG export facilities receive natural gas by pipeline and liquefy the gas for transport on special ocean-going LNG ships or tankers.

It is not the USA’s business to stop a gas pipeline in Europe.

It is Biden’s business.
