No, it’s critical that they want us to believe the source was Russian. If the source was Russian, then they were well-meaning patriots who were tricked. Steele was duped, the FBI was just sloppy, the CIA did nothing wrong. But if there WAS no Russian source, there is no explanation other than outright treason of our intelligence agencies. That is why they tenaciously cling to the story that there was an original Russian disinformation source. You’re being duped.
There are countless legitimate reasons to despise the USSR. But you cannot be blinded by a grudge from the Cold War era to the reality that they are not the Soviet communists today, and the US government is no longer representing the constitutional republic we all had.
