A search warrant was executed Wednesday morning at the home of former Florida Sen. Frank Artiles as part of the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office’s investigation into whether he illegally funded a planted candidate in the November election...
Investigators are looking for evidence of Artiles’ possible communication with Alex Rodriguez...
Alex Rodriguez, a deep-in-debt machinery rep in Boca Raton, falsified his address on his campaign filing form, and that he didn’t fundraise or campaign for the position he was on the ballot for. He also lied to Local 10 News in November when we asked him to explain his curious no-show, no-party campaign and suspicious campaign finance records.
Masterminding a sham candidate is not illegal, but financing one is.
Prosecutors have been working the case for months, following the money and communications between Artiles and Alex Rodriguez.

Funny how there are two tiers, the lower tier that gets investigated and prosecuted and the upper tier, Hillary, biden, Obama, bush, still walking free
This is the second time this week that I read about someone being in trouble for lying to the media. I don’t recall who it was inthe other case, but the TV show was 60 minutes. Is it now illegal to lie on TV?
If so, half the country would be in jail.
Let’s get Biden first for telling Snuffleupagus that only people making over 400Kwouldhave their taxes raised.
Liz Warren was a sham candidate and was used to take out Bernie Sanders.
As a former resident of Illinois, I don’t understand this article. What it describes is standard procedure for Democrats there if even the smallest possibility exists for them to lose when using more conventional ways of cheating.

What law prevents you from funding a weak or sham candidate?
or campaign for the position he was on the ballot for.
So like Jao Bai Den, then...
In the 1946 Dem primary for US house seat in MA, JFK faced a second Joseph Russo who was a sham candidate sponsored by JFK’s dad Joseph
They used bag men to pass out cash too.
Of course, we can’t forget the Chicago gangsters in 1960.

Masterminding a sham candidate is not illegal, but financing one is.
But had this been Democrats, instead of Republicans, the odds of even hearing about it, let alone being investigated, would be slim to none, with none winning out most likely.
If you read the article it mentions lying to the media as if it were a crime.
The media prints lots of lies, so that doesn’t surprise me that they made a statement like that. But both of us know that being untruthful to the press is no crime.
I wish I could remember more about the 60 minutes one. It was a judge saying he lied to the media. I totally agree it’s not illegal to lie to the press, but have you ever noticed in congress they treat articles as truth? Irks me.
Yeah, you aren't alone in that sentiment. 8>)
