A Washington state judge is facing calls to resign after he was caught on tape calling a black man fatally shot by police last year “so dumb.”
Clark County District Judge Darvin Zimmerman made the comments to another court official last week — which were captured on video and then broadcast on YouTube in adherence with the state’s open courtroom laws. The footage has since been taken down.
He referred to 21-year-old Kevin Peterson Jr., who was killed by three Clark County deputies on Oct. 29, as “the black guy they were trying to make an angel out of” and described him as “so dumb,” according to the Atlanta Black Star.

During an undercover drug bust, the guy essentially live-streamed his fleeing from the police and allegedly told his girlfriend he didn't want to go to prison.
The police say he pointed a gun at them at least twice. A handgun was found at the scene.
If you think a guy involved in an armed drug deal should be mocked - and I personally think it's fine - then you probably don't have any problems with this kind of criminal behavior being mocked. Also, if this guy feared he was going away for life, I'm curious what kind of drug was involved (it's not named in this report) and what kind of quantity we're talking about.

I know Darvin Zimmerman. He is a great guy, and not a prejudiced bone in his body. This article is total bullshit.
He’s also a fair and honest judge; a very rare exception to almost every other judge I’ve encountered.

Judge Zimmerman is a good guy. Can’t say that about Clark County Sheriff Chuck Atkins; a really corrupt knuckle-dragger.
Then he must go.
Da judge should know that this is the ultimate, unforgiveable crime. It’s worse than even murder.
