The death of Common Sense begins with the words initiated by the morass of Bureaucracy couched in safety and security. Indeed, and according to past President Ronald Reagan, the most frightening words to hear in the English language are para ‘We’re here from the government and we’re here to help you!’ The underpinnings of such beginnings appear benign and with benign neglect the malignancy storms through, metastasizing arboreally through the veins of the entire system. The world is seeing such a death these days.
We argue that the real virus is ‘fear’ and ‘fear’ stops people from thinking clearly. Governments and bureaucrats and their expert advisors are depending on people not thinking clearly, and are providing knee-jerk reactions to every facet of the pandemic which only drives fear unnecessarily. We also point out that the fuel for this fear rests on the reliance of our leadership on wholly unreliable PCR testing for SARS-CoV-2. In effect this has led to a fear-based PCRdemic that has not only paralyzed society but has led to massive societal disruption and unnecessary suffering and death.
The CDC has again revealed itself to be a nonautonomous entity grifting on the illogic of pseudoscience with its recent guidance regarding Covid-19 vaccines and travel as well as how vaccinated people can safely visit others. This once glorified agency has stooped to issue conflicting and at times illogical and frankly misleading guidance on Covid which can confuse not only the public, but healthcare providers and policy makers alike. Well, this opinion piece is chock full of misinformation.
When a deadly respiratory airborne virus is circulating, does anyone really expect ANY government to just stand back and let it spread?
As of this morning, there have been 29,403,102 US cases with 534,333 deaths for a death rate of 1.817%. If the virus were to reach 65% of the population of 330 million, that would translate to around 3.9 million deaths. That many deaths are too much for any government to ignore.
Why it is the “conservative” position to ignore those deaths in favor of keeping the economy going is a complete mystery to me. For one thing, aren’t conservatives supposedly pro-life? For another, who thinks that the economy is going to keep roaring along at Trump levels when there are 4 million EXTRA deaths on top of the 2.8 million that would die in a normal year?
The pandemic control measures were determined long before Covid-19 came on the scene. Those of us who worked in pandemic preparedness thought about, discussed, and wrote about the measures to control an airborne virus years ago. That various governments then prescribe these measures on the basis of public health expert opinion and recommendations is not surprising. More importantly, it is NOT an attack on liberty. Those attacks come from the left; we all know how the left is trying to suppress basic rights like freedom of speech and religion.
Also, I should add, since a lot of people seem to think that a 1.817% chance of dying from Covid-19 is trivial, that 1/3 of all people who catch Covid-19 and survive have long-term issues which go on for months and could last for years. Extreme fatigue, neurological issues, and respiratory problems are just some of the long-term effects.
And can we just stop with the misinformation already? It did enough damage to President Trump and gave Biden a HUGE campaign issue. I blame the fact that Trump is not on his second term on the misinformation that became entrenched in popular culture. (Am I the only one who pays attention to leftist memes to see how this issue was used very effectively to demonstrate the stupidity of Trump and his followers?)
Let's add the fact that the vaccines are condoned thru an Emergency Use Authorization that specifies vaccines can only be used if no other treatments are available.
No other treatments are available here because politicians have financial stakes in the vaccine development, and existing treatments are cheap and in common use for other diseases. We send positive cases to a hospital (who collect $6k); India prescribes a group of drugs and sends them home.

The CDC is a political organization. The medical professional are not listened to at the CDC. It is 100% dependent on political funding.
I am so frustrated by the “follow the science” justification for the lockdowns, masks, and social distancing.
Vaccinated people are, if following the science, immune. Yes, 5% may still contract the disease, but the rest of the story is that those 5% only have very mild symptoms, and the viral load they would produce is insufficient to infect another person in normal circumstances. The guidance should recognize this and stop suggesting any restrictions on vaccinated people.
The CDC is not providing any true justification for generalized mask
wearing. Masks may stop the very largest particles that may have virus attached, but if they were honest they would discuss the mechanisms involved which if considered objectively do not justify masks to prevent someone becoming infected at all from airborne virus. The mesh of anything less than a properly fitted and worn N95 mask simply don’t impede airborne virus.
Cloth and the common paper filter masks have a mesh size that simply doesn’t stop the virus except on comparatively large particles. There are essentially 4 mechanisms a filter stops and retains particles.
1. Straining. Straining of particles larger than the mesh size contains the particle between adjacent fibers or cloth threads. Not a lot of that, as such larger particles fall out of the air in a short time.
2. Inertial impact. Inertial impact of a particle onto the filter fiber or cloth thread may stop smaller particles if the particle is massive enough that its inertia would prevent it from changing course with the airflow around the fiber or cloth thread, and once in contact adhesion forces such as Van der Waals or electrostatics would hold the particle in place. Most airborne particles that contain virus would pass.
3. Interception. Interception of a particle is where the flow line comes close enough to contact a particle to the fiber or cloth thread such that the particle will attach and be retained by adhesion forces.
4. Very small particles, which likely the majority of airborne particles containing the virus and which have been the source of airborne spread, are most susceptible to Brownian motion and randomly will contact and become trapped in the fiber or thread. Unlikely even a factor for stopping flow through a cloth mask.
Bottom line is hand washing and cleaning surfaces are the most effective measures in use and which should be continued. Masks are just not justified for preventing a person from becoming infected. Masks may have some limited value for preventing a contagious person from spreading the virus, and much more should be done in that area for people to recognize early the potential they may have the disease and are in a contagious stage of the disease.
I agree that the government can’t stand idly by and do nothing. That being said, when they say follow the science, then provide the science and as we learn what is effective and what is not effective, adjust the recommendations and edicts. Early on we didn’t know, so extreme action to “slow the curve” was justified. The question is now, with the advantage of seeing results in different places with different approaches, what modifications should we make. Only this week, after months of mass vaccination, does the CDC suggest allowing small groups of vaccinated people can meet without masks. Too little, too late.
You will never be able to stop illnesses in a society. Yes Covid affects some worse than others but never in history of illnesses much worse than Covid, have we quarantined and shut down the economy. There are many treatments that were politicized Many may not have died if Fauci and the Dems had not politicized treatments. Actual deaths from only Covid are way lower than what they want you to believe.

Part of it may be that few people these days weld, spray paint, use grinders, etc., so are not familiar with the use of PPE.
Sure, the masks we are using aren't 100% effective, but they help.
Other than fraud, this issue is one of the main reasons Biden got votes.
While we know the "death count" is inflated, still , dead is dead, and who wants to suffer the long term misery this virus gives to some folks, apparently at random?
Wearing PPE for any activity is a pain in the rear, but it's worth doing to help with the odds.
Are those deaths per positive result (questionable); or deaths from confirmed cases (infected deaths)? The propaganda from Communist Network News only report the PCR data, without correction for contaminated test kits, for example.
The PCR tests allow for a 'resurgence' at any time by contaminating a few hundred kits and scatter them around the country, if you think about it.

1 - The vast majority of the deaths are in the retired population. Who already are not working. No reason to restrict those in their 20s.
2 - I’m over 60 and have two kids in school. They attend full time and have no caught it, spread it to me, etc.
3 - People no work, no money. It takes money to fight the disease.

Well, the CDC disagrees. The real numbers seem to be 0.5% for those of us in our 60s, and more like 0.02% OR LESS for younger folks.
