When a Democrat resorts to blaming “cancel culture,” the writing is well and truly on the wall. A struggling Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) held a press conference on Friday after New York Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jerry Nadler, both Democrats, added their voices to a rising chorus of 117 state legislators demanding the governor resign amid sexual assault allegations and the COVID-19 nursing home scandal. Cuomo again denied the allegations and condemned what he described as a “reckless” rush to conclusions.
“Politicians who don’t know a single fact but yet form a conclusion and an opinion are in my opinion reckless and dangerous,” he said. “The people of New York should not have confidence in a politician who takes an opinion without knowing the facts and substance. People know the difference between playing politics, bowing to cancel culture, and the truth. Let the review proceed, I’m not going to resign, I was not elected by the politicians, I was elected by the people.”
Cuomo, the son of a former New York governor, said, “I am not part of the political club, and you know what? I am proud of it.” Ironically, he went on to say, “My entire life I have been under public scrutiny, since I was 23 years old and ran my father’s campaign. New Yorkers know me. Wait for the facts.”

I think the State/Party is powerful enough that he doesn’t have those cards to play. To go full Samson and bring the whole house down with him - that can’t happen.

I think this is also about presidential politics. While Cuomo’s goose is about to be cooked in New York Gavin Newsom is about to face a recall election. Notice how the Democrats are not circling the wagons to protect either man as they would usually do. Democrats are piling on Cuomo in NY, and CA Democrats are not doing much to prevent a recall election on Newsom. Cuomo and Newsom are the strongest presidential candidates from a very weak Democrat bench, and with them out of the way, the soon-to-be President Harris has a clear path in 2024 and 2028. Kamala is an Obama protege. Newsom and Cuomo are known Clintonistas. You can figure out the power struggle in all of this. It’s hardly a coincidence this is happening now. The RATS have already shown us they’ll do whatever it takes to get what they want, and that includes throwing other Democrats under the bus to get it!
Number 7 came out today, I would say he is gone by Monday, everyone in NY State politics wants him gone, but it might have to do as much with the nursing home scandal as anything else also.
Building it up to where when he finally resigns they can say he’s suffered enough and bury everything related to the nursing home debacle, starting with his victims.
At least one of the victims is alleging non-consensual touching, I believe. If that witness is willing to testify (evidence), then Gov Cuomo is in Legal Jeopardy, not just Political Jeopardy.
The question: Is forcible grabbing of a dog's tail (after you induced the dog to run away by throwing a ball to fetch after a shower) considered animal abuse? Animal Abuse is a Class A Misdemeanor in nearly all jurisdictions, but if 'torture' is involved it becomes a Class D Felony.
I don't think it's about the nursing home scandal, to democrats a few thousand dead people is just a good start to a day. The other idea mentioned here is more likely, that his aspirations of running for president threaten the party's plans for the future so he has to be removed.
In any case, the party powers that be are gunning for him so he won't last long. If he doesn't resign they might find his body floating in the East River.
Well, I will throw this into the hopper. The Lieutenant Governor of New York is a woman. Getting rid of Cuomo would be a two-fer.

Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul is from Buffalo New York and not nearly radical enough.
Attorney General Letitia James will end up as the Governor of New York, that has been the plan all along.
