Five of California's top doctors in state government have received the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, an act taken jointly in front of news cameras as officials seek to promote the most recently approved shot.
Federal and state scientists have been focused recently on touting the benefits of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, a single-dose shot that has provided virtually 100% protection against the kind of life-threatening COVID-19 disease that leads to hospitalization and death.
Officials have been trying to boost public confidence in the vaccine because, at the time the clinical trials were conducted, the Johnson & Johnson shot was only 72% effective against moderate to severe infection in the U.S.
That's an impressive percentage compared with the flu vaccine, but officials are concerned that the public will avoid taking the Johnson & Johnson shot to wait for the vaccines made by Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna. Those shots, which require two doses, were tested earlier in the pandemic, before the wider distribution of worrisome variants, and were found to be more than 94% effective in preventing people from getting sick at all.
Officials say it's impossible to compare which vaccines are more effective precisely because they were tested at different points in the pandemic.
What they do know is that all three vaccines currently available in the U.S. offered extraordinary protection against hospitalizations and deaths from COVID-19 in clinical trials. Health officials and are urging people to take whatever vaccine they're offered when it's made available to them.

The same doctors who committed malpractice by saying hydroxychloroquine doesn’t work and refused to treat patients, are the same ones pushing these experimental vaccines that are not FDA approved and are being used under an emergency use authorization.

The document I got when I got my Moderna shot said there is “No vaccine that is 100% effective” and these are all emergency use only until a 100% effective vaccine can be developed.
So it is not 100% effective.

Convince me that a it’s malpractice to say HCL doesn’t work.
Convince me that these are experimental vaccines, are not FDA approved.

There has never been a 100% effective vaccine. The smallpox vaccine - the one that wiped smallpox off the face of the Earth - is 95% effective.
Doctors have tried it and it isn’t very effective. It can be slightly effective if given at just the right time after infection. It does nothing for someone who’s already at the point of being hospitalized and it’s not reliable enough to be useful for most patients.
There’s a reason President Trump’s doctors went with monoclonal antibody therapy: it actually works.
I want the most placebo-ey shot they have, just to shut up my dopey lib family members. J&J is the winning choice so far. Waiting to hear of side effects, even for this Bud Light of “vaccines”.
Only partially true. When HCQ is combined w zinc and azythromycin and administered early, it is highly effective.
Listen to Dr McCullough’s (et al) testimony for Sen Ron Johnson’s subcommittee. Early treatment is key.
