A year into a pandemic, this bar outside Yosemite still refuses to follow COVID-19 rules

Airport Inn Bar & Grill is an all-American saloon in Yosemite National Park's gateway town of Mariposa. It's beloved by many long-time residents, and legendary for its comfort food.

It also openly defied the regional stay-at-home order to shut down in December, and its regulars are known to be gun ownership-advocating, COVID-19-denying Trump supporters. And not just one, but several, nooses are hanging around the property.

While Airport Bar may try to bring the spirit of the Wild West and that era may be romantic to some, it isn't for everyone. For people of color, the good old days in Mariposa were traumatic. The town’s history is inextricably linked with racism, to the point that Black people used to avoid stopping there;

A story about a business exercising and celebrating freedom and somehow racism gets thrown into the mix.
