If I was a cynic, I would say they are stacking the deck against vitamin supplements to keep us sicker and more in need of expensive drugs.

I am without a doubt a cynic, then! I can’t help but notice that everyone I know in my age group (late 60s) who goes regularly to doctors, even if they’re healthy and only have “wellness checkups”, is taking at least one or two prescription drugs on a continual basis. Give me a break! I just take my handful of supplements, avoid doctors, and I’m chugging along just fine.

Ditto....I totally avoid doctors unless it is absolutely necessary, case in point, two years ago I had lyme disease, had no choice but to get to the ER, I woke up with face drooping and speech slurred, thought I had a stroke, it was bells palsy due to lyme disease....I didn't know I had been bitten by a tick, no signs...I took the meds and that was the end of that....I take my supplements faithfully and I rarely get sick, last time I was sick was about 4 years ago, had walking pneumonia - my mother was alive then and I was taking care of her 24/7 (dementia) and had let myself get run down, neglected to take supplements, didn't sleep well, etc. etc.

Then government will tax you to subsidize medical industry services for people who live on cigarettes and Twinkies.

My doctor pushed Statins pretty hard. I don’t like Statins.
