I would say though that the US military peaked in effectiveness, STRENGTH, etc. in WWII.

In terms of raw manpower I agree, but the United States didn't have technological superiority. By the 1960s the United States had manpower, logistics, and technological superiority.

Either way, the military has become hollowed out and too reliant on technology.
