GREEN BAY, Wis. (WLUK) -- Republican state lawmakers have renewed calls for an investigation into how Green Bay administered the November election. One is even calling for the city’s mayor to resign.
State Sen. Roger Roth, R-Appleton, says he had concerns when Democratic-leaning cities in Wisconsin received grants to help administer the November election.
“We had no idea until this report came out just how drastic it would be,” said Roth, whose district does not include Green Bay.
The report is from Wisconsin Spotlight, a conservative outlet. It looked at how Green Bay used an outside consultant and a $1.6 million grant from the Center for Tech and Civic Life, a nonprofit funded by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
The report shows city emails obtained through an open records request that detail the access the consultant had to ballots and the overall influence he had on the city's election operations.
“That assertion that just because someone has access to ballots does not mean that person impacts ballots or votes at all,” said State Rep. Kristina Shelton, D-Green Bay. “I think it's important to remember this report comes from an extreme right-wing organization that is run by a former Republican Assembly member.”
Shelton points out a lawsuit claiming the grant money was to sway election results was rejected ahead of Election Day.
“What the City of Green Bay did in the November election was legal,” said Shelton.

Really. These are massive crimes against our country. Hanging is too good for these scumbags.
Ds take election much more seriously than Rs. However, we can fix this thing. Florida, which had a mess of an election system a generation ago, fixed-up their system. Ohio and Texas also have good systems. To reform the election laws in WI, PA and MI, and also AZ and GA, we have to win the state elections in 2022.
