They didn’t take the Olympics away from Adolf Hitler I don’t think they’ll take them away from anyone except possibly President Trump
The ChiComs aren’t all bad.
They’re building coal fired electric generating plants at a phenomenal rate and suppressing muslims effectively.
I don’t plan to watch the Beijing CCP winter Olympics, or even recognize the efforts of the attending American athletes, with one exception: An American athlete gets gold at an event, forcing a CCP competitor to content himself with silver. In that case, it’s Jesse Owens league stuff.
Well there won’t be any snow anyway so...............
Remember how Jimmy Carter had the US boycott the 1980 Moscow Olympics over the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan?
The Olympics are not going to be moved, so then all we could do is refuse to participate.

My first thought is just the opposite. Flood the Beijing Olympics with athletes and spectators from the free world and let them associate with the Chinese citizens. Eat in their restaurants, ride their buses and sight-see. Mingle and talk and let the Chinese citizens learn first hand from the free world citizens what it like elsewhere. Maybe it will motivate more dissidence - more problems for their communist masters...

I must have had a long nap last summer.
See, I love the traditions, ceremonies, and the IDEA of the Games. I love to see it when Americans win gold in anything, and I love to hear our National Anthem played.
But in 2022....after what China has done and is still doing, this may be the first Olympics I will purposely give a miss to.
It’s sad to think that all those young American athletes, who have put in long, grueling hours of hard work and practice to be the best in the world...they won’t get the chance to show the world that they ARE the best in (mostly) friendly competition.
WHY should the world-murdering Chinese get to host a prestigious event and thus derive all the monies emanating from that event and the free PR? You can absolutely bet the bank that any people there who would use the Olympics as a protest platform will be “disappeared”, as will all the stray dogs in the area. No Olympics will be watched here in my home, that’s for sure. Unless they feature members of the CCP being used as target practice, with half-time entertainment of bombing virology labs and weapons centers.

2028 summer Olympics
Every event today is used to try to make a political or social statement. I don’t want to watch Bob Costas or someone else moralizing about gun control, the lectures about the environment, the “heroic” stories about how someone overcame perceived sexism or racism. Everything is about selling a narrative. I don’t care. I am not watching.
Which ought to prompt China to give itself a black eye with the world watching. Win, win, win.
The primary victims of an Olympic boycott would be our own athletes. That was exactly the result last time. Instead of self-defeating virtue signaling, we should hit the Chinese where it hurts: on trade. We should ban all imports from China except from factories where an American inspector has visited and certified compliance with human rights standards. In addition to fostering American manufacturing, jobs and self-reliance, it is a moral imperative that we stop fueling our consumer activity the backs of slave labor. We need to be better than that, even if prices go up as a result.
