Now that race and ethnic (or sexual) identities are being emphasized by media, the academy, and the entertainment industry as the most important possible thing to know about a person – a suicidal practice in in a diverse democracy – the inevitable corollary is appearing. Products are being offered to the public based on the racial, ethic, or even sexual identity group of the owners of the company that produced them.

Same here. CCP products will not be purchased.

This could hurt as much as help
If I really was a White Supremacist, could/would/should I thank Giant Supermarkets for letting me know what products not to buy?
BTW, Teriyaki rice is Black?
Did anyone tell the Japanese?
Guess that whole “judge by content of your character and not by
The color of your skin” is all done
WTF cares? I buy what is good and a good value.
White guys made the Jamacian jerk spice? OMG!!!
New York City chili?
Our defense industry was destroyed by this foolishness, our schools too.
I grew up in Ohio, and Skyline chili is an abomination.
Yeah...I thought there was some cultural appropriation going on there with the teriyaki rice...
But I think that Asians (with the exception of Chinese Communists) are considered almost as bad as whites, so that probably doesn’t matter in this context.
That said, I think listing products by the race or ethnic group of their producer is appalling and completely un-American. I saw an op-Ed somewhere wondering when the labeled water fountains were coming back...by logical extension.
Do the suppliers of these products have the choice of whether this information is posted?
If I were a minority supplier, I would want the product to stand on it’s own merit.
Bringing ethnicity into the buying decision might not be a good influence on me, as I am neither guilty nor woke. If you are trying to manipulate me into either of those feeling, I don’t want to do business with you.
Manhattan clam chowder?
I see posts on social media to support local black owned businesses. Naturally, I chimed in saying how about you support local businesses based on quality. I was immediately branded a racist and banned from the group.
It absolutely infuriates me when there are calls to support whatever owned businesses. What? So you punish other businesses because they aren’t the preferred group? I note I’m grinding my teeth as I type this, I’ll stop now.
I have one color I care about when buying...
Green.
How much does it cost?
I mean, unless its some crap brand, price is my main determinate. If your Black @$$ made the cheapest and it’s good, you’ve sold me.
But only on price.
White chili is plain wrong even if whites invented chili...
I was quoting a line from the film, “Blazing Saddles”...
I just want to know which products were made by companies owned by the Chinese Communist Party
YES! It’s all coming out now. Thanks for posting.
The Japanese didn’t form a company called Neilly’s and produce Teriyaki Rice Mix.
I wonder if all of the companies that are being singled out wanted to be singled out in such a way.
Isn’t that Cultural Appropriation? Or, is it that you can’t be racist and you can’t culturally appropriate if you have the correct amount of melanin?
Oddly the Japanese are notorious xenophobes.
