Georgia’s Senate passed election reform legislation on Monday that contains various components, including that it would eliminate no-excuse absentee voting and limit mail-in ballots to individuals who qualify based on specific criteria.
The bill now moves on to the Georgia House Elections Integrity Committee where it is anticipated that it will pass in the next few weeks, according to the Epoch Times, which noted that there is a key deadline approaching: "The bill must pass by March 31 to have a chance of becoming law by the end of the 2021 legislative session in Georgia, subject to Gov. Brian Kemp's decision whether to sign or veto it," the outlet reported.
The legislation would nix no-excuse absentee voting, which has been permitted in the Peach State since 2005.
Read More "Under the proposed legislation, those who are eligible to vote by mail will be limited to people who are physically disabled; or are over 65 years old; are eligible as a military or overseas voter; have a religious holiday around election day; work in elections; or somehow need to be outside their voting precinct during the early voting period and election day," the outlet reported.
The legislation calls for a telephone hotline to field reports about voter intimidation and election fraud that would be examined by the state's attorney general within three days, the Epoch Times reported. The outlet said that voter identification would be mandatory to request an absentee ballot under the legislation.
Let's get this bill passed and then they can work on other issues like:
1. People need to provide citizenship documents in order to register to vote.
2. Ban touch screen voting. Only paper ballots that are manually completed allowed.
3. Periodic re-registration by all voters in order to keep the voter registration rolls up-to-date.
bttt
All of which will be overturned based on the precedents set in 2020. ITS OVER!
A good start by the GA legislature would’ve been to recognize the massive fraud in their state and hold a special session back in November.
There are a few other states like Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin that could benefit from similar legislation.
WHO counts the votes?
proving citizenship to register has been tried several times in KS. It gets shot down each time by some judge.
Kemp has no role in determining the laws for Federal elections. The Constitution says Legislatures, not States.
If the drafters wanted to subject election laws to the approval of the Governor, it would have done so.
To claim it must be sign by the governor violates the fist rule of Constitutional construction, which is “The words mean what they say, and say what they mean. Words cannot be removed, nor can words be inserted.”
Some states that had this law just ignored it for 2020.
LMAO, now they care. The damage is done and pretty much permanent. I see no remedy to the problem that the left can easily counter.
I’m sure Dominion will be the project manager.
LOL!
A law with no provision for enforcement and no penalty is NO LAW!
Absolutely; then all states can get on board.
all of that sounds good. Add:
- all ballots must be received (not posted but received) by the end of election day.
- all precincts must report how many ballots they have received daily. (ie no “discovering” trunk fulls of ballots 2 days after the election)
- strict chain of custody for all ballots (no drop boxes)
- total ban on ballot harvesting
- a right to meaningfully observe the counting of all ballots by all political parties. By meaningful we mean close enough that the Counter can smell their breath and what brand of deodorant they use.....close enough that the observer can easily read and challenge each ballot.
- those who want to vote absentee must not only be qualified to do so but must request an absentee ballot.
- independent signature match verification of all absentee ballots BEFORE certification of election results.
Lol! Why didn’t those morons step in last election????
Of course we still have the dominion machines so basically we’re screwed. 🙄
Will it survive the voter suppression lawsuits? Time will tell.
