I’d tune-in occasionally, but not everyday as I’ve done with Rush, except when I was hospitalized in 2017 & 2018.

Thanks for all your posts, one of the only reasons I look at FR anymore.

Keep me on your ping list if there’s “Rush worthy” new program.

Meanwhile Chris Plante and Derek Hunter remain my go-to talks shows.

Thank you so much for your faithful posting. I didn't often post anything but it was great to have a spot to know where the Rush faithful were.

I agree that the show died with him. So grateful for all I learned from him...time to move on.

You’re most welcome. What station’s DH on 9-12?

I want to take just a moment to thank carriage_hill for helping out these last several years with the daily Rush Limbaugh show threads. It has been fun hanging out with all of my fellow dittoheads.

Even though Rush has passed on, his show is still appointment radio for me as it has been the last several years. His thoughts on the world today are as timeless as anyone else who is way way larger than life such as Rush.

Ultimately, it's going to come down to whether or not the show as it is right now will continue. Rush's show has been #1 in the books for the last several years. If it continues in that spot and if there continues to be a market for the show as it is then it's most likely Premiere and iHeart Radio may choose to continue with it as it is.

The thing to remember is there are other radio talk hosts who have also passed on but their shows are still continuing with ensemble casts. One such show is Kidd Kraddick In The Morning which is on a whole host of FM music stations across the country.(Kidd passed away in 2013) Then, there is also the Reverend Billy Graham who passed away in 2018. His column is still continuing in syndication in papers across America.

Another thing you have to remember is that Premiere and iHeart did let Rush's affiliates know that it would be at the very least sometime in May before they are able to set up a permanent replacement for the 12-3 PM ET time slot, so this show as it is is not going to go away for at least a couple of months.

Ultimately, it's going to be up to the listeners and the radio market as to whether or not they want to continue to listen, if they do, then the show will continue. You and I are just each one person. Neither of us have any say in what happens here. This is the free market at work.

Suffice it to say it's been a fun ride. Sad that it's over but happy that it happened.

Now, it's going to be up to the other radio talk hosts to carry the torch from Rush and get America back on it's feet again.

FReegards, E.G.C.

The Rush Limbaugh Memorial Legacy Show, Mon-Fri, 12-3PM ET, Mar 8-12, 2021.

Friday, Mar 12, 2021

Thank you, Rush Hudson Limbaugh III (1951-2021), for all you did for America and for us, for over 32 years. You are in a far, far better place, now. RIP and MegaDittoes to you, in Eternity.

Let's not be sad, that he's gone. Let's be happy, that we had him for all the years we did.

Rest in Peace Rush. We miss your wisdom and your humor. Nobody can ever take your place, but hopefully there are others out there who have learned from you.

It’s the Todd Herman Show. Rush is ancillary.

I’m sorry, but it’s getting kind of ghoulish. I can’t listen and pretend that Rush is here. I am actively looking for another 12-3 program.

Heck, I remember when Rush was first aired on WGST in Atlanta. I was mad. Not so much for replacing our local guy, but that the broadcast was only two hours and those from the previous day. It was truncated and stale.

Knowing that he was a long term smoker

One of the first things I ever heard from him was "my formerly nicotine stained fingers"

So he hadn't smoked cigarettes in over thirty years. Can non inhaled cigar smoke still bring on lung cancer?

Great song, but by Jimmy Dean not Johnny Cash.

If you find a good one, let me know.
I’m tired of Todd trying to be Rush, with old clips.

I was exposed to second-hand smoke, as a kid in the early 50s, and began smoking at BSA’s Summer Camp, and it got heavier in college the the late 60s.

In NYC’s Midtown business world, I smoked 4-5 packs a day, cut back to 2-3 when I moved to PA to open my Nursery/Garden Center & Landscape Contracting Operation; now down to 1/2 - 1 pack. Lungs have mild COPD, but clear.

Lucky so far, I guess.
