Your day sounds like a perfect one. We have to wait until Monday for mid 60s, which will be nice. Wed. we get 70s for a few days and THAT’S what I’m waiting for! LOL
Dogwoods come in white, pink, and the red ones, which are really dark pink. Not deep red. This one is special because it was almost dead when I bought it and it limped along for a few years. Then it took off in growth and now this year it’s loaded with buds. Blooms have been sparse until now.
I’ll be sure to snap pix once it blooms.
Lots of supplies being flown out to the villages where the dogs will be stopping on their run to ????
They are going out and circling back.
It sounds gorgeous. I remember seeing dogwoods growing wild when we’d drive through Georgia. I was always amazed at all the lovely blooming trees there after living where we do. LOL!
I hope you get a chance to enjoy all those nice warm days!
I reckon it’s a good thing you didn’t get more snow today after just having your roof shoveled.
Yeah, it really hurt the city not having all the usual Iditarod festivities this year. They’ve shortened the race too.
From what I saw today, yes, the small planes were running supplies to various points along the race route. I was checking FlightRadar24 periodically to see where planes were.
A couple had to hold off on taking off or landing for a short time this afternoon due to a moose wandering around on the lake. She was finally scared off and flights resumed.
Yep, dogwoods are all over the place in this part of the country. We have several in the woods on the farm and a few white ones around the old house. I planted the red one in this yard because it needed something. Only two magnolias in the front yard at the time and it just looked ugly. We’ve added a Bradford pear and a weeping cherry tree and had a nice Blue Atlas cedar for a while. Fire ants killed that one last year. GRRRRR
Darn fire ants! How could they kill suh a lovely tree. Wish there was some way to eradicate those nasty things. They are a menace.
I’m going to head out soon...you know...pew bonking not wanted. So I’ll see ya tomorrow! Enjoy the pretty weather while you have it.
The fire ants built a nest under the tree and killed the roots. Hubby discovered it when he pulled the tree up after it died. We have a huge colony under the sidewalk in front that we’ve been trying to kill off with no luck. Fortunately everyone goes to the back door when they visit.
Sleep well. I hope y’all have another gorgeous day.
How's everyone doing this morning?
The more sun the better. That ice dam is probably 10-12” thick. We need melting!!!
A moose vs car is bad enough, but I cannot imagine how bad a moose vs plane taxiing or landing would be. *shivers*

I hope you finally had a pretty day for your romp with Gizmo. Looked pretty dreary there Friday.
Good evening, mountainlion, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Crazy winter weather for sure. So enjoy the warm weather and store it for the coming snow. AND...spring is coming.
Welcome to the Canteen, Karoo, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Congratulations on your recovery. And thanks for sharing how this slogan helped you.
Yikes! I didn’t realize the ice dam was that thick. You do need more sunlight. Warmer temps would help, too, but that’s a little in the offing.
That moose has been hanging around a lot lately. She seems to like the tender shoots on the trees around one of the buildings and has to walk across the lake to get to them.
Today was NOT a good day for her to visit since it was so busy.
Today is KFC pickup day. We also plan on doing Comanche Lake later today.
Shavua Tov, blessings on all our active and retired military and their families.
Aaaaaaaah, that was a much prettier day. Gizmo approved. LOL
Have fun at Comanche Lake and enjoy that KFC supper!
I heard boiling water poured into an ant hill will get rid of ants. Here’s an article with several methods to kill fair ants:

Thanks. I don’t know that any of the remedies would work, though, because it states to do them before serious infestation gets going. We’re well past that point. We’ve tried many things and none have worked so far. Hubby’s even poured gasoline down a couple of the holes and lit it. LOL
There are fire ants all over the farm and the colony under the sidewalk is huge. Probably more than one colony since the sidewalk’s about 30 feet long and there are several holes along its length.
I might try the corn meal since that’s not expensive. No rain this week so I’ll be able to tell how much is being eaten and taken down the holes to starve the rest of the nasty lil buggers.
Then we just have to hope a new batch doesn’t move in.
Oh Yeah.
Try the diatomaceous earth, food grade. It won’t hurt your pets, if they get into it, but it’s deadly to bugs.
