Live oaks (I've heard them called them sand oaks) are sturdy in hurricane winds. You're not going to get one like this in Miami.
They want to replace the palms with shade trees that will take up more CO2 and storm water. I’m waiting for the next episode of “Oak vs. category 4 hurricane”. Or when the watermelons decide that 80 ft. maple is blocking solar panels.

Yeah, Hurricane Andrew with 120 mph winds. Houses will be crushed, 100lb limbs will be flying. Brilliant idea. Those palms just bend over. Might get all their fronds blown off but they grow back and don’t do any damage when they hit a building or car.
