I think the better part of that scene is the way they’re talking about the various radical groups, including their own, “The People’s Front of Judea” and its offshoot “The Judean People’s Front”? It’s exactly how the communist groups are, always arguing over various bits and splitting off into new groups.

There is little unity in Leftist groups.
The way it works is, a committee decides on the direction the larger party will be going. There are directed debates and discussions and when a decision is made, you will not break party discipline or you will be expelled. Once expelled, you are persona non grata to those who are not expelled. Shunning isn’t as effective as the expulsion of a once party cadre.
There is no mystery why so many little Leftist groups exist. Factions and fractions leave, form their own little group, then they have some “internal struggle” on some issue and THEY fracture and split. It becomes an “eat your own” scenario. What fun!
