Brexit: loyalist paramilitary groups renounce Good Friday agreement
The Guardian ^ | 4 March 2021 | Roy Carroll

Loyalist paramilitary groups have told the British and Irish governments they are withdrawing support for the Good Friday agreement in protest at Northern Ireland’s Irish Sea trade border with the rest of the UK.

The Loyalist Communities Council, an umbrella group that represents the views of the UVF, UDA and Red Hand Commando, wrote a letter to Boris Johnson and Ireland’s taoiseach, Micheál Martin, warning of “permanent destruction” of the 1998 peace agreement without changes to post-Brexit arrangements for Northern Ireland.

The letter said unionist opposition to the Northern Ireland protocol – the part of the Brexit deal that keeps Northern Ireland a part of the EU’s single market for goods – should remain “peaceful and democratic”. However, the decision to withdraw support for a peace deal that underpins power-sharing in Northern Ireland seems designed to sound alarm bells in Dublin, London and Brussels....

Meanwhile it emerged that the Police Service of Northern Ireland is investigating graffiti in a loyalist area of Belfast referencing Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove. The message painted on a wall included Gove’s name and an address above the words, “We don’t forget, we don’t forgive”.

Socialist (Communists) don’t like Brexit.

Totalitarianism in all forms is evil.

Socialism (Communism light) fails every time.

Northern Ireland as part of the UK is history....it may be a long, slow descent....but seems that Brexit basically cut them loose.

always a bit surprising to note the alphabet soup of so many different groups in both the unionist and irish nationalist camps (and in the middle)....sociologically, I think it is still safe to say that there is not a strong unified belief in what the meaning of Northern Ireland really is

If the Red Hand says we don’t forgive or forget...

I’d take a holiday

Why? It’s about time the Unionists stood up for themselves. Since the Good Friday Agreement that the Clinton Administration forced on them, the Unionist community has been marginalized and victimized time and again. You have an IRA bomber who serves as a member of the policing board and two unrepentant female IRA terrorists sitting in the Government they tried to destroy. Meanwhile, you have 70 year old British Veterans being dragged into the dock for actions they took 40 years ago. Sinn Fein is a marxist terrorist front group for the IRA and to think American “Conservatives” support them or their desire for a “united” socialist Ireland is beyond me.

It goes back to Cromwell...well no before actually

James the First....a flamer.....but one who reproduced and had mistresses

End of Nine Years War

First serious Protestant settlements in Ulster end of 16th century

So Prods for 400 plus years ....most reasonable folks would say ....well let em have it

Did that save Afrikaaners? Who actually had Southern Africa as long as Woods have had North America

Nope

Of course Republican Irish are merely Catholic not negro

So they get far less points as the aggrieved party

Did I make any sense....

Cromwell does deserve assignment of responsibility but he didn’t start it

It’s not exactly that

Northern Ireland Protestants ....the majority in those counties

Don’t like the language in Brexit regarding them

As for Marxism

The IRA has always had an affection for leftism far more than the Ulster Defense Forces etc

All of Ireland is far more leftist than we are

Meanwhile, Irish Republicans have continued to murder police officers, prison officers, and even journalists, but of course that has no affect on the 1998 Good Friday peace agreement ...

Those who wish to stay in the EU are far leftists. It makes no difference what they call themselves.

Totalitarianism in all forms is evil. Underneath the wrapper they are all evil.

Progressive
Socialist
Marxist #BLM
Fascist #Nazi’s (Erdogan’s Turkey)
Communist #Antifa
Dictator #ComDem_Covid19_Dictators
Islamist
Bureaucrap #the_Swamp

All Evil. All Fail.

Freedom Works.

This has the pawprints of that oaf David Frost all over it. He only took over from Gove last week as the cabinet minister supervising the implementation of the withdrawal and trade agreements. Gove had proved a conciliatory negotiator, especially with Coveney and with the EU commissioner who’s now his opposite number. Within days, this completely pointless unilateral extension is announced, and any slowly building trust vanishes. However Frost ever made a career in the diplomatic service is a mystery.

The Catholics for sure want to join the Republic and the Protestants want to remain with Britain

They are in a long term cease fire basically because both sides learned it was not going anywhere

History favors the Catholics maybe...

It’s a prime example of white people behaving poorly if ever there was one.....so senseless

The Irish are......more emotional and quick to ire than others in their neighborhood

Celtic blood ....or more accurately Scots....

Truly a pointless very personal gangster civil war
