If they wait until the earnings information from the 2020 tax returns are in, the number of recipients below these numbers will grow hugely.
So, if you made more than this on your 2019 return, and got destroyed by politicians in 2020, you’re screwed.

Personally, I don’t see how anyone whose income has remained untouched by “the pandemic” or by any government action related to the “pandemic” should (as far as “need”) be eligible for a “stimulus” check/credit. It is only those whose incomes have been directly upset by pandemic related actions that should be considered “in need” and thus eligible for these payments (if they “must” be made at all).
The best “stimulus” would be for all states to do as Texas and just get everything open and going again.
All of our children and grandchildren got the first rounds of money. None of them were affected at all by Covid. They all kept their jobs. Husband and I make too much money for the stimulus. I don’t understand why people who already get a government check in the form of welfare or social security rated a stimulus check. Their status did not change. They lost no money. The only ones who should have gotten money were those who lost their jobs and their businesses due to the government crack downs. This is such a joke.

The latest bill isn’t about stimulus it’s about funneling money to blue states.
Tell me about it - 2020 will be first yaer I’ll pay over 6 digits in taxes all in and this year will be 30% or more above that.
