FBI Director Christopher Wray on Tuesday refused to tell senators the cause of death for Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, whose death heavily influenced coverage of the Capitol riot.
Reports after Jan. 6 originally said Sicknick died after being bludgeoned by a fire extinguisher while fighting off then-President Donald Trump’s supporters, which authorities didn’t deny at the time. The claim became part of the impeachment trial case against Trump for allegedly inciting the riot — though his family now says it’s untrue.
Wray cited an “ongoing” investigation into Sicknick’s death.
“I certainly understand and respect and appreciate the keen interest in what happened to him — after all, he was here protecting all of you. And as soon as there is information that we can appropriately share, we want to be able to do that. But at the moment, the investigation is still ongoing,” Wray said at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) asked if that meant the FBI “have not determined” the cause of Sicknick’s death.
“That means we can’t yet disclose a cause of death at this stage,” Wray said.
Grassley pressed on, asking Wray to confirm whether the FBI has determined a cause of death.
“I didn’t say that. We’re not at a point where we can disclose or confirm the cause of death,” Wray said.
Sicknick’s cremated remains had the rare distinction of lying in honor last month in the Capitol Rotunda.
Recent news reports say the FBI believes that a capsaicin-based “bear spray” may have caused Sicknick’s death, though those reports also have not been confirmed on the record by authorities.
The officer’s mother said in a recent interview that the family also remained in the dark, though they believed that being bludgeoned was not the cause of death.

Wray is as corrupt, if not more than Comey. We have no FBI or Supreme Court any more.
I didn't watch the hearing. Did any of those Repuke Senators defend Trump supporters?
It doesn't fit the narrative that the Democrats, and the swamp want out there. They, the media, and big tech are perfectly fine with letting the truth go untold.
I saw a Tucker Carlson video that claimed Sicknick's brother said Brian had texted him about 6:30 p.m. on January 6th, and told him that he'd been pepper sprayed three times, but was okay. Of course the FBI arrested a musician named Jon Schaffer for using "bear spray" on police officers. They're probably going to try to pin Sicknick's death on this "bear spray," never even taking into consideration that his death could have been caused by the pepper spray the police themselves were using on the people that day.
His mother has recently been quoted as saying that she doesn't know how her son died, and would like to know, but that it wasn't from getting hit in the head with a fire extinguisher.
Wray looks like he's getting ready to pee on the table.
Trump also had a worrisome history of interaction with Jeffrey Epstein.
The FBI hasn’t reflected well on the FBI at least since Whitey Bulger, Ruby Ridge, and Waco.

You can tell how much Wray is lying by the amount of oxygen he steals.
My best guess is that Sicknick “knew too much” and threatened to blow the whistle on the staged “armed insurrection”.
..............................................
My best guess is that the two officers who committed suicide also knew too much and were “invited” to take the hemlock or suffer more dreadful consequences.
But Trump had ample opportunity to clean these people out of government. Also, Trump has not offered any explanation as to why he did not.
..........................................
The only explanation that makes any sense to me is that his most trusted advisors persuaded him that firing these traitors would cause him more grief than leaving them to do their dirty work. On the other hand, by approving the hiring of some of these despicable people, he appeared to be completely unaware that he himself was a prime example of the victim in that poem by Al Wilson he liked to quote.
