South of San Francisco, the Sequoia Union High School District serves some of the Bay Area’s wealthiest communities, such as Atherton, Menlo Park and Woodside, as well as some of its neediest, including East Palo Alto, North Fair Oaks and Redwood City.
On Tuesday, the school district learned it had risen into a state tier that would allow high school students, if they chose, to resume on-campus learning. At the urging of many parents, district leaders on Wednesday announced an April reopening plan.

It is time for separation of school and state.
We are filling the ranks of teachers with emotionally dysfunctional sub-adults.
I wonder how this High School history teacher gets his groceries?
So he can go shopping and go to restaurants and expect people to keep his store shelves filled and to wait on him, but he can't go into the classroom and DO HIS JOB?
Time for him to consider a career change.
These teachers are just plain lazy. Minimum wage cashiers and grocery store workers have worked through this whole thing and nobody cries for them. The teachers should either show up or get their ass fired.
Based on my personal experiences ad nauseam in the 90s, that’s been going on for a long time.
They're able to collect their paychecks without having to show up to work. No one is holding them accountable. Powerful teacher unions. So why not take advantage?
These teachers are self righteous candy-asses. How pathetic. There millions of people going to work every day, sort of risking their lives because, well CNN says so.
People doing their jobs during a pandemic aren’t heros....they are human. We have an innate desire to do good when we can. We like things and need money to get things. We like to take care of our families. It doesn’t matter if you are grinding metal in some factory or designing ad campaigns for some start up......work is good.
Forget it Jake, it’s California.
Repeated surveys show that the vast majority of people think they are above average drivers. They also think their public schools and teachers are likewise above average. I would of trust my child with ANY public school teacher.
That should be should not.
I’ve had 4 grandchildren attending 4 different schools since August here in Indiana and no student or teacher has died. Maybe people here are more robust?
So the students who physically go to the school are going to have in-person remote learning. How does that make sense???
Some school systems are hiring Classroom Monitors for teachers who cannot show up for in person instruction.
So a median income of $64,000 is poor? Cal is one crazy place.
So the students will be there for in person learning, but no adults.
Public schools will never re-open as they were.
obama's fundamentally changed.
Parents, who truly hate their kids, send them to Public "Schools"!

More than likely, he’s a lazy person and wants to stay home and conduct classes via Zoom in his underwear.
