A woman visiting Oakland's Chinatown Wednesday was dragged by a car down a street when a thief allegedly stole her purse, according to surveillance video circulated widely online.
The victim's husband told KPIX his wife was wearing the purse crossed around her neck and shoulder and she was pulled 150 feet by the suspect's car.

You have the video..... no allegedly.
Do they have a description of the allegedly alleged perp?
Donβt need to look. Amish or Sweden
So they have the make/model/color of the perps car.
How about the bystander guy who FILMS her being dragged, rather than check to see if she’s okay?
Bald (white guy) runs out to at least check on the (maybe Asian?) lady.
Good gosh, what this country has come to.
Too many good samaritans sued for helping out, its beter to call 911
At least until society collapsed and the politicians, judges and lawyers are used up as kindling
Okay...only, Mr Filming guy wasn’t calling...he was....filming.
It says it’s a surveilance video.
There is a limit to how much people can take before they snap.
You just never know quite where that line is with someone. Until you cross the line.
Then you find out.
I’m talking about the Twitter vid posted at post 4.
It shows a man/bystander FILMING this poor lady, rather than running out to check on her.
Did you see the video/tweet I was replying to? Can you see the man holding up his phone.....filming her.
Not Oakland Chinatown. It’s an area about a mile from Chinatown called “East Lake” or “Clinton”, less often referred to by a real estate marketing name that didn’t stick as “New Chinatown”. It is more SE Asian. There are maybe half a dozen places there flying the Republic of South Vietnam yellow flag with the three red stripes. Mrs. Flash shops at some Chinese markets on E. 12th Street very close to where the lady was dragged.
“There is a limit to how much people can take before they snap.”
Apparently there is no limit for democrats. They just say can I have another.
Wow, even the ‘cars’ steal purses in Oaktown.
And here I was thinking Amish.
“How about the bystander guy who FILMS her being dragged, rather than check to see if sheβs okay?”
Maybe he didn’t believe he had standing.
Understand its not a crime any more in California if less than $950 is involved.
Right. If the amount is less than $950 or the woman is dragged less than a quarter of a mile, the "incident" is dropped by the D.A.
Regards,
I was recently involved in an incident where 2 guys drove off after clipping me with their car, dragging my bicycle under their front bumper. I got the dragging off part on cellphone video.
The cops came and arrested ME for vandalizing their car by way of them dragging my bicycle and fleeing the scene!
I will be appearing in court April 2nd.
I’m never calling the cops again.
Oh I did see that and you have to forgive me. I’m very old and I tend to miss a lot of things. Thanks for pointing that out.
