It would be interesting to see the actual status of the dog walker. Some sources I've read referred to him as a family friend. Otherwise, it's not sure if he had his own dog walking business, or if he was domestic help. California Worker's Comp laws are pretty broad regarding the requirement for worker's comp for domestic help, so he may very well have a worker's comp claim for his injuries and medicals.

In CA, “full time” domestic workers can receive workers’ compensation benefits. For domestic help, CA defines, "full time as 20 hours x week for work inside the house (maids, butlers, cooks etc.) and just 10 hours per week or more for those that work outside the house (i.e. gardners, pool cleaners, etc.) The employee must have worked at least 52 hours in the 90 days before the injury to qualify for benefits and have been paid at least $100 during that time period.

If her dog walker meets that criterion, Lady Gaga (and/or her insurer) are on the hook for worker's comp.
