A group of about three dozen Democrats in the House have signed a letter calling for President Joe Biden to give up his sole authority to authorize the launch of nuclear weapons, which was obtained by Politico.
"Vesting one person with this authority entails real risks," reads the letter, which was spearheaded by Rep. Jimmy Panetta, D-Calif., according to Politico. "Past presidents have threatened to attack other countries with nuclear weapons or exhibited behavior that caused other officials to express concern about the president’s judgment."
The letter continues, “While any president would presumably consult with advisors before ordering a nuclear attack, there is no requirement to do so. The military is obligated to carry out the order if they assess it is legal under the laws of war. Under the current posture of U.S. nuclear forces, that attack would happen in minutes.”

Worst idea in history is to let a committee decide control of the launch codes. It needs to be a single person, the President (even if he’s a democrat).
Very true. There is good reason to invest such a responsibility — such a decision — in a civilian commander-in-chief. The problem isn’t with this long-standing structure; the problem is with a president who is mentally incapacitated.

They have always known that Biden is not competent to handle those decisions. They might as well just sign it over to the democrat party so they can blow up half the country. They are just out of control. Trump never pulled any sh__ like that.
If Biden is unfit to hold the codes, he is unfit to be president. Anyone that helped put him in office is responsible for putting the country in danger.
The “committee” is probably re-targeting on red states as well.
But this is a power grab. They claimed Trump was unhinged, and now they have obviously impaired Biden. So this is an attempt to grab the Nuke power away from the President forever and give it to some Intel Committee that would not be able to react fast enough in a crisis.
This is scary. We have to rid ourselves of these kooks before we perish. They are nuts. All of them.
The nuclear weapon system safety rules (NWSSR) we had to follow in the USAF had a two man (now two person) policy. That stipulated that no one person had the capability to arm, launch or release a weapon or have access to critical components.
It wouldn't be outside the scope of that policy, under those guidelines, to have selected members of the cabinet or JCS deputized to be the second part of a go code, particularly in light of our idiot in chief now.
