Democrats defend 'goodies' in $1.9 trillion coronavirus spending bill

Democrats are defending special interest provisions packed inside the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 spending package, arguing criticism of the legislation from Republicans is just “misinformation and partisan spin."

Republicans on the House Budget Committee, who all voted against the package Monday, argued the bill is nothing more than “special interest pork and other liberal goodies.”

Despite its $1.9 trillion price tag, Republicans say only 8% goes toward coronavirus-related spending, while billions are tacked on to help Democratic-allied activist groups, unions, and bailouts to state and local governments that imposed shutdowns on their communities and made irresponsible budgetary decisions related to pensions.

Democrats brushed off Republicans' effort to highlight items in the bill that they say are not related to relief, claiming the spending package's purpose is to give a boost to the economy, and Republicans only want to stop people from receiving help during the pandemic.

“We have also been subjected to a lot of misinformation and partisan spin. What’s true is this: The virus has already killed more than 500,000 Americans. Workers, families, small businesses, and communities across the country are counting on the relief in President Biden’s American Rescue Plan to survive these crises, and they can’t afford to wait," House Budget Committee Chairman John Yarmouth, a Kentucky Democrat, said in a statement after the Democratic majority voted the package out of committee.

Republicans point to $135 million directed toward the National Endowment for the Arts, $86 billion dollars in union pension bailouts, over $100 million for a Silicon Valley transit expansion project, and $1.5 million for the Seaway International Bridge, an expanse intended to connect New York to Canada.

Additionally, $1 billion was tucked in the bill for "socially disadvantaged" farmers and similar groups. This would include an establishment of an equity commission as

President Trump shined the light on permanent Washington, and the likes of Cheney. The political class is fighting because another round of Trump wouldn’t go well for them.

Why do they even pretend to have a vote? Just loot the Treasury, that’s what is actually happening anyway. This has only 9% to do with COVID 19, and 91% fraud and theft. So? Accept the new normal, Kleptocracy and Fascism. Liz does.

Every spending bill that desperate Democrats and RINOs pass is an unconstitutional expansion of the already unconstitutionally big federal government’s powers imo.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

So each spending bill is more evidence that probably most federal lawmakers should lose their jobs under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.

"14th Amendment, Section 3: No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same [emphasis added], or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability."

Assuming a population of 330 million Americans, $1.9T works out to additional debt of $5758 per person. For my family of six, that’s $34,545 in additional debt for my “share” of the government debt. Still want that stimulus check from this mountain-of-pork bill?

“We must act NOW. Immediately. There isn’t a second to waste. people are starving in the streets. But first, let’s impeach Trump again.” - Democrats.

Shut up Americans. The illegals will get everything and you’ll be happy with your $600 ebt card.

All bills should be limited to one side of a regular sheet of copy paper. One inch margins on all four sides. 12 font Times roman. Double spaced. If it’s one word longer, in file 13 it goes and can not be brought up again for 2 years.

Republicans should read this on the floor prior to the vote. If it goes to the senate, the filibuster should be reading the entire bill out loud and after each item ask how does this help COVID relief. Take every item, put it in an excel file and for each one, ask by a show of hands who supports the measure.

You could hold the floor for weeks.
