I remember the Fry’s in San Jose back in the 90’s. You could easily spend a day in there. I was so excited when they opened in GA, then so disappointed when I went in. Not remotely the same store. More on par with Best Buy with the addition of a few odd or obscure items.

They used to have a really nice section with over-the-air TV antennas, masts, accessories, for instance. Not much of that stuff around in brick and mortar any more. And it was more than a few odd/obscure items.

I liked them quite well 15 or so years ago, built a couple of nice tower PCs with stuff from the one by Gwinnett Place.

The 90’s were the peak of Fry’s, especially in Silicon Valley. It was fun to just go and hang out at their stores even if you weren’t buying anything!
