Activists gathered Tuesday night on Jefferson Avenue, where Daniel Prude encountered Rochester police in March, 2020.
They marched toward West Main Street to the RPD Special Operations Section on Child Street before moving onto I-490 via the Child Street ramp. From there, they moved to the Public Safety BUilding in downtown Rochester.
This comes after New York State Attorney General Letitia James announced a grand jury’s decision not to charge any police officers in connection with Prude’s death.

“Pain compliance” only works if the perp can feel pain.
“Activists” huh?
Blocking a freeway sounds like domestic terrorism to me.
If they sing “lean on me” after chanting “who shit S*it down, we shut s*hit down” that makes it not domestic terrorism, right?
“One marcher says “if you’re mad about this tell police to stop killing black people” @News_8”
If you’re mad about black people being shot, tell them to stop doing stuff they need to be shot for.
If some white criminal attacks the police and gets shot, it doesn’t bother me one iota.
These idiots aren’t even protesting a shooting, but a dude OD on PCP. Idiots.
How in the world was that ever allowed the first time it happened? As soon as one of these jerks steps onto a public road, he should be arrested. You can demonstrate all day long on the sidewalk, but nobody should be allowed to block a road.
If you are trying to promote a movement, a naked, demented PCP addict is not the best poster-boy.
If they burn the building it’s okay because the sun already went down.
well, duh they are going to do it at nite!
Looks like the BLM leaders have told the BLM sheep to head home for the day or at least to walk away from the police line they have by the jail. Now some more random idiots screaming chants into the megaphone.
“Blocking a freeway sounds like domestic terrorism to me.”
this crap has to end
Doing PCP seems to be largely a black ghetto thing. Who takes a drug, on purpose, that makes you act like that? Does it make you feel good, or just crazy?
Daniel Prude death: No charges for Rochester police officers
No wonder the law-abiding are leaving a vapor trail, escaping from New York.
So basically the city Council is demanding to micromanage every little aspect of how the police department operates, including policies about where officers stand during a protest, what equipment they use, etc. These elected officials have never had to deal with an angry mob or any police matter before and expect everything to be a cut and dry exact same scenario every single time. They are either too naïve or lying when they believe every protest can fit into the written guidelines, in reality every protest can change minute by minute and what is necessary to ensure the safety of police, government buildings, citizens and protesters.
