Vaccines were not being administered until December 2020 to the general population. The 400,000 additional deaths in 2020 over 2019 were mostly before vaccinations began.

There’s a fallacy about because it hasn’t happened before, it can’t happen.
That’s not proof of anything.
What you said is largely true because covid mortality is lower than TB, Plague, Yellow fever, SARS, H1N1, Small Pox, HIV, etc. But covid mortality was higher than Flu in 2020 due to it being a brand new virus, no one had immunity to it.
Draw your own conclusions on why 400,000 ADDITIONAL deaths occurred in 2020 over 2019. From 2000 through 2019, the average increase in death rates year over year is less than 20,000.
How many times were Americans locked down for a year since WWII?
Drugs?
Alcohol?
Suicide?
Untreated medical issues due to lockdown?
Depression?
Loneliness?
Stress?
Loss of everything?
Perpetual fear via media?
Covid?
All of the above?

Where did you learn I was FOR lockdowns?
I have posted again and again that lockdowns deprive people of building natural immunity in body from mild exposure to viruses, not to mention loss of jobs & businesses.
Personally, I was never in a lockdown mode since February 2020. Even went on a fully sold out Carnival cruise ending on February 29th, 2020. Many posters here had advised me against it. And from March 1st, 2020 I have done 300+ visits to public places, including grocery stores, restaurants (all open in Florida), Gym, cancer hospital, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Walmart, eye doctor, HMO doctor, etc.
And now I must leave for my daily Gym visit because exercising these 80 year old lungs does more to prevent any respiratory disease than any vitamins or medicines.

I did. I looked it up. A simple search will elaborate on the genomic origins of the terminology change. But with all the government money flowing due to this virus, I can’t help but wonder if there’s more to it.
