Biden is set to repeat Obama’s Mideast failures — and wipe out US influence
NY Post ^ | February 21, 2021 | Dominic Green

Every now and then, America mislays one of its Mideast allies. “Who lost Iran?” they asked in 1979, as the shah’s regime went sideways, the answer being Jimmy Carter and the State Department. “Who lost Egypt?” they asked in 2012, as the Muslim Brotherhood took power, the answer being Barack Obama and the State Department.

“Who lost Israel?” will soon be added to this perplexed refrain. The answer will be President Biden and the State Department.

But this time, America will be losing the region as a whole — to its historic rival, Russia. Iranian mischief will wax again, and Washington’s Arab and Israeli allies will move on without anyone losing much sleep over what the White House thinks about anything. This is a deliberate strategic choice, and it will lead to the collapse of American influence in western Asia.

Team Biden appears bent on reviving the Iran deal at all costs. The costs include completing the Democrats’ turn away from the Jewish state and thoroughly alienating America’s Sunni-Arab clients. In reviving the nuclear deal, moreover, Washington will repeat a failed experiment in the hope of different results.

The Iranian regime won’t accept a tougher deal than the 2015 accord, and the Biden administration is Obama 3.0: The same team looks to rehabilitate its reputation, not to secure the national interest. The Obama-Bidenites will accept any humiliation from Tehran and call it a diplomatic breakthrough.

The Obama-Biden Mideast template, the one favored by much of Washington’s foreign-policy cognoscenti, involves abandoning America’s allies and perversely empowering the Tehran regime, by putting it on what Henry Kissinger called “a glide path to a nuclear weapon.”

You call them failures, Obama and Biden would call them successes.

Perspective is everything.

Obama had endless success in foreign relations. Personal successes yes, but he accomplished exactly what he wanted right under the collective nose of America.

Biden’s in luck.

No matter how bad he makes the situation... no matter how horrible the Middle East becomes, the bimbos and pretentious ‘men’ of the press will ignore it. Biden has a “D” by his name - - means his ‘intentions’ are good.

Just like the ‘good ole boys’ in the Jim Crow South - their ‘intentions’ were known by the other ‘good ole boys’... so they got a pass. Democrat thugs then - democrat thugs now.

Depending on your point of view, the US is committing suicide or being murdered by the anti-American Marxists now running the forming US dictatorship. Maybe the only thing that will save the US is if the Mullahs get impatient and nuke DC when Congress and most of the rest of the swamp is doing business. Otherwise, the US will become a subordinate, minor entity probably dominated by China.

Can’t argue with the guy.

Trump has laid the groundwork for a large general agreement
between Middle-Eastern players. This was formulated to
achieve cooperation between these nations and Israel, and to
develop partnerships that would stall Iran in it’s march to
regional domination.

Now all bets are off.

Israel WILL HAVE TO go it’s own way or be hit with nukes
Saudi Arabia isn’t pleased over this, because Iran is it’s
enemy as well. None of the Arab Emirate nations will be
thrilled.

We hear of the Leftist idiots in Europe being thrilled
Biden and a better global partner are now in charge in the
U. S.

Wait until their interests are threatened with Iran’s nukes.

They are nearly in range of Iran now, if not already in
range.

Nuclear blackmail?

Will Russia and China back Iran and make it known who ever
goes after Iran will have to deal with them?

Europe is busy gulping as much strychnine as it can get down.
Sooner or later, the symptoms will show up.

Suicide by ignorance is painful to watch, when you want
better for someone/a nation, and you’ve paid a high price
to give them a chance several times, and lesser costs over
a period of 75 years.

Can’t wait to hear how it was all Trump’s fault when it all
falls apart.

fIdiots...

Good. Let President Harris do her thing in the Middle East and there’s a very good chance that the countries making up that region, having lived through 4 years of relative peace will decide they want nothing to do with the US other than to sell it oil at an inflated price. Render the Harris administration useless in their affairs.

Of course, that’ll mean that the Harris CIA, and others, will foment civil wars and attempt to overthrow a few governments that prove to be inconvenient for the current administration.

What I find comical is that the current administration thinks they are competent and are capable of actually dealing with adult situations, when in fact, due to the massive election fraud that everyone knows took place and their documented incompetence, it’s a laughing stock.

Remember reading how John F'in Kerry went around meeting with Iranians and other nefarious leaders telling them to hang tight as he believed Trump would be defeated in November? Makes me think he was a key participant in the steal.....

The Middle East is the least of our problems.

Time to focus only on the destruction going on here, which is likely irreversible. Nothing else matters.

Depressing news, but thanks. I hope Israel and the Arab gulf States realize their power and stick with the peace plan. I had really prayed for the people of Iran and still do.

Trump has laid the groundwork for a large general agreement between Middle-Eastern players. This was formulated to achieve cooperation between these nations and Israel, and to develop partnerships that would stall Iran in it’s march to regional domination.

Why would they not all maintain the new framework, being in their best interests, regardless of what Washington thinks?

Everything the US tries to do in the Middle East (and other places, too) is a screwed up mess. What makes people think the arrogant dolts in our government can plan or accomplish anything? The world is not going to simply comply with the wishes of a bunch of neocon policy wonks.
