The starboard engine of a United Airlines passenger jet burst into flames over Denver on Saturday — forcing an emergency landing and causing a huge piece of engine casing to land on a suburban front yard, officials and witnesses said.
Amazingly, no injuries were reported from on board Honolulu-bound United Flight 328 or on the ground — despite dramatic images showing the rattling, burning engine and the front yard wreckage.
The Boeing 777 took off from Denver International Airport at 12:49 p.m. with 231 passengers and 10 crew members on board but quickly experienced engine trouble and returned to Denver International Airport around 1:30 p.m., IFN News reported.

I’m glad everybody is okay.
It’s a total miracle that no one was hurt.
Like Jeff Foxworthy and the empty wooden cable spool on the side of the highway, the jet engine cowl might be converted to a family room table. Just an idea.
Check out the video in this article. Prayers got answered on this one, thank you Lord.
Just glad everybody is okay.

True, I agree. Thanks be to God.
Sorry for my later kidding around below on this thread. Cheap humor favored over good taste as usual.
Yikes, big chunks from the engine.
But why did it happen?
I absolutely hate flying.
Thankfully all ok and no injuries and tha plane stuff landed where no one was.
My goodness those people must need a drink.
It’s amazing the fuel continued to flow to the engine and was distributed to all the combustors.
I think the NTSB will want all the debris to examine as part of their investigation.

That’s an incredible picture!
Boeing is going to have some more problems. That is two similar incidents in two days.
could it be sabotage?
Were there any Republican politicians onboard?
“ It’s amazing the fuel continued to flow to the engine and was distributed to all the combustors.”
Agreed, when the fire handle is pulled it shuts off the hydraulics, the fuel shutoff valve is closed and the generator drive is disconnected. The fire bell is disturbing even when I’m in the simulator. Just had 3 of this same scenario in the simulator over the last 3 days.
Big plane and just two engines, yes?

Now down to one engine!
Yeah.
Killjoys.
Is this it?
