Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., raised more than $2 million for relief efforts in Texas as of Friday afternoon before traveling to Houston to help in the recovery effort.

“Charity isn’t always a replacement for good governance, but we won’t turn away from helping people in need when things hit the fan,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted.

The funds raised by the progressive lawmaker will go toward 12 food banks and relief organizations, including the Bridge Homeless Recovery Center, Ending Community Homelessness Coalition, Family Eldercare, Feeding Texas and the Houston Food Bank, according to the donations page.

I hate to say it, but...Beto doing senior citizen welfare checks in Texas and AOC raising money to help Texas...maybe the Pubbies should take some lessons.

Unfortunately, we live in a political world where perception is reality. The GOP was late to the game in this regard and now will, believe it or not, look like they don't care despite the fact that it was Green Energy policies that caused this. The sad fact is they let a crisis go to waste

Of course but I am not going to beat him over the head with it he has been a reliable conservative and a Senator that I can support whole heartily unlike this Reno the Rino guy calling Cruz by Trumps campaign name of Lying Ted. Last I seen Ted was one of only two Senators fighting for Trump till the very end.

“Unfortunately, we live in a political world where perception is reality.”

That’s the truth...nothing’s at it seems anymore. I told my wife, I’m ready to go live in a cave. Just get me away from all of this craziness.

Of course, she couldn’t resist making a jab. So very typical.

Stop falling for the fake news narrative.

Cruz's coverage is typical liberal media gotcha journalism.

AOC doesn't give a crap about Texas. She is just coordinating a narrative against Cruz.

I agree with what you said about Cruz. He was my first choice in the 2016 primaries. That’s why it is so frustrating to see an intelligent man make such an embarrassing unforced error.

So Ocasio-Cortez runs off to Texas with donated cash to pass out in order to create a story to distract from the Cuomo/Democrats scandal? How convenient.

Maybe Cruz should head off to New York to draw attention to how Democrats and the media, including the New York Times, covered up for Cuomo for so long, and how that was likely meant to affect the election?

I swear some of you guys will pimp for and decent Lyn’ Ted regardless of what he does over and over and over again. He should be thrown under the bus like all the others. It’s time we clean house of these lying, cheating, and disloyal people. Let Abbott appoint a replacement.

Don’t know and quite frankly the question irrelevant. What have Republicans done? If they have done anything they need to publicize it because right now this is a Public Relations victory for the Dems
