That really ticks me off because I know someone who is also a "Dr." but uses the title ONLY in a professional capacity...as a lecturer, teacher, historian.

To use the title on an everyday basis is ridiculous. If she writes a paper relative to her degree, she is entitled. Otherwise, it's out of place.
