Power companies are private corporations.
Federal Subsidies on wind/solar and Federal Regulation on fossil fueled power plants (old plants are mot grandfathered when new capacity is added to them) made wind turbines profitable.
The administrative state gave us wind turbines and solar. It’s almost completely out of the politicians hands, now.
That is the way Democrats work.
Most of this happened under Bush and Perry. And T. Boone Pickens is probably the biggest culprit of all.
