Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, has seen his approval rating drop 29 points among constituents since the November election and his subsequent fallout with former President Donald Trump, according to a new poll.

McConnell, who once aligned himself as an ally to the former president, became a vocal critic of Trump during the latter's crusade to change the election outcome and in the aftermath of the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Only 41 percent of GOP voters in McConnell's home state now approve of his performance—down from 70 percent before the November election, according to a Morning Consult survey published Tuesday.

I honestly don’t understand what benefit he hoped to derive from his recent actions

Too little. Too late.

He should have been primaried last year.

Evidently the Senate of the United States is where old
useless turtles go to die.

Most people don’t pay attention.

They get asked a question, and he’s a registered Republican,
so they try to help out prior to an election.

70%? He didn’t deserve that level of support.

He lives in an alternate reality. He really believes that Trump is radioactive and trashing him is now the respectable thing to do. He give's Trump no credit for having coattails in the House or the Senate because neither does CNN, Politico or the Washington Post.

He’s only concerned with bilking the system for 6 more years so he didn’t have a plan

Mitch is going to stuff his pockets as much as he can and then retire to China. Communism is great for the upper class, it’s miserable for the other 99% f the people.

Another Deep-stater. Probably tired of working for Trump. He pushed the judges through, and probably hated Trump every minute. Now,, he thinks he can show his true colors just like GWB.

Morning Consult was the top 3 polling companies of 2015/16 when Trump won. The error of margin was extremely close. I dont believe in polls either but 29% I believe , is too low.

Ask Nikki Haley. Seriously. They apparently both drink the same swamp water.

I have said a few times now that MAGA supporters do not understand how powerful we could be OR how much it means to have a shrewd leader like Trump.

Consider AOC and the squad. Relatively young congresscritters in a swamp that mostly values party and seniority yet they have an outsized influence on their party. One might even say they have dragged the party much closer to their own views than those of the DNCe.

Why?

One word..... primaries. Democrat politicians from blue districts in cities are terrified of AOC and her crew because they KNOW they can be targeted in a primary and the radical left, while fewer in number than the usual milquetoast democrats, will show up and vote in the primary.

Don’t believe me? Just look at how good old Majority Leader Chuck has changed since AOC came onto the scene.

A small group of dedicated and energetic folks can punch way above their weight. If they can do that just imagine what the huge numbers of MAGA voters can do to the GOP!

The republicrats are hopeless. McConnell and the rest do not yet understand that they made Trump far more powerful in defeat when it comes to their own destiny.

Trump does not “need” them now. Due to their betrayal we do not want them either.

It makes no sense. McConnell and his Uniparty (R) minions had ran Trump out of town. McConnell’s CCP allied shipping company was once again safe from MAGA. You would think an old swamp snake like McConnell would have been happy kicked back banking his CCP windfall.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, has seen his approval rating drop 29 points among constituents since the November election and his subsequent fallout with former President Donald Trump, according to a new poll.

Since McConnell was just re-elected for another 6 year term, and since he almost certainly will never stand for election again, this is only meaningful if his approval rating drops with members of his caucus and they replace him as leader of the GOP caucus.
